A week ago, last Sunday, I decided to be a tourist in my own city, and take the Victorian Home Walk, with tour guide Mariyn Straka. We started out at a Victorian B&B, that used to be a girls school near Gough, and walked through the greater part of Pacific Hieghts, ending the tour on Union Street. It was a blustery day, with a cold wind that chilled to the bone, but the views and insightful commentary by Mariyn kept the tour interesting. My only wish is that we could have stopped for a cup of "Joe" on 'Fillmore before climbing the hill to Broadway. All in all a fun way to spend a morning in our fine city! I want to be sure to include my daughter next time.
