My friends got married here, and while it was a beautiful venue, stunning really, the hotel part was nothing short of awful. I've stayed at other Nob Hill hotels, such as the Mark Hopkins, and The University Club is not even close to being in the same league. Here is a bulleted list of the issues:
-Noise! There were several other weddings the same weekend I stayed there. So the night before the wedding I was scheduled to be a bridesmaid in, my room was directly below the dancefloor. Well, mine and the entire wedding party. We all looked like zombies when we showed up for hair and makeup the next morning because it didn't quiet down until well after 1:00 AM. You could hear EVERYTHING going on in the rooms around you.
-Unfriendly staff. They actually told someone in town from Europe to just "walk around" until they found a tourist destination. Also, our rehearsal was scheduled for 4:00, but they wouldn't let us check-in until 4:00 and provided zero security for our belongings.
-Billing! It's been four days and they still have over $500 of mine tied up in double charges and room holds. They don't seem to have any idea how to manage their business.
-Ammenities. There were none.
