Thought this was going to be a disaster based off of previous reviews, but very surprised. Hotel is clean and quiet. Staff is friendly, easy check in and out, and valet parking($16)
This is not the Four Seasons, but in this price range its the best you will find in San Francisco.

As mentionned in the previous review, the hotel is near the bart, tram & bus stations.
Beds were very conformtable. And the room was quiet despite thin walls (the hotel was not packed during our stay)
The breakfast "on the go" is pleasant (muffins, coffee and fruit juice)

I would recommend this hotel in San Francisco.
It's near the muni and bart station (Civic center on Market Srteet). We used the bart to came and go to the airport and the tram to go basically everywhere. From the hotel to the station is around 10-15 minutes.
Room was clean and quiet. Staff always available.
Breakfast with muffins, coffe and juices. If you stay more than 2 days could end up being boring.
The area nearby is not frightening despite some weird people hanging out at night, but I only noticed that at our first arrival (at night) because we were not familiar with this aspect of life in San Francisco. But near the hotel there is a crowded and nice place for having a drink at night and an organic market with all kind of food we found good and very useful and open till late (maybe 9.30 pm?) .

We just returned from staying 1 night at this hotel. The office staff was not friendly or helpful. They (3 different people) seemed way more interested in their laptop than in helping the customer.

There were 4 people... extra 2 people cost $40 and we didn't have enough towels unless I asked for them. What does 2 extra people use that would cost $40.00 more each night?

At check-in one person indicated that a much larger rate would be charged to my credit card and then I would receive a % back as a separate transaction on the credit card. This did not make sense. Thankfully, the person who checked us out, just charged the expected rate.

Valet service is available, for $16.00, and they take the car to another location.

The rooms are tiny for 4 people. The breakfast is muffins/juice/coffee. The staff needed to be reminded that the muffins and coffee needed replenishing.
Mostly the staff was just not helpful or friendly.
