“A really nice way to see San Francisco”

Ive been to San Francisco more times than I can count, and this time we chose to stay at Annies Cottage and will definitely stay there again.

Essentially a basement flat in a quiet leafy street not far from Lombard st in the Russian Hill area, Annies is a quiet, restful and tranquil spot. Dont be put off by the corrodor through the apartment complex to Annies, as the front garden is beautiful as is the outlook from the rooms balcony.

There's some great dining nearby and transport is close so getting around is dead easy. When we stayed Annie was out of town and her house sitter who was really friendly took care of things, doing a great job.

My only (really minor) grizzle was the wifi, which struggled to deliver a robust connection, but I suspect that this is easily fixed and I would definitely stay again!

“A peaceful oasis that's close to a lot.”

What a peaceful and convenient place. My husband and I stayed here for four nights, and were very comfortable throughout.

You'll approach your "suite" through a charming little garden -- so welcoming after a high-energy day in the city. Annie has thoughtfully outfitted the place with premium bath products; a microwave and coffee maker; a refrigerator (for all the yummy leftovers from nearby restaurants); and helpful guides, maps, and books. The bed is comfy and the place is spacious. There is also a cute little deck/balcony for you to use. Bonus: Annie doesn't lurk. You'll have all the privacy you want, though she's very glad to help with recommendations when asked.

This is a great value, and we hope to visit again. Thank you, Annie!

“It doesn't get much better”

What to say? The place itself is charming beyond belief. You enter through an apartment building that breaks out into a wonderful little cottage hidden away in the middle of the block.

The accomodations were superb. Cozy and comfortable, but big enough to lounge and hang out without feeling cramped. A very good mattress, and quiet. Nice and quiet.

The neighborhood -- Russian Hill -- is great. Annie's is within walking distance of about a dozen nice neighborhood restaurants. Hyde Street (one of San Francisco's gems) has a cable car line, and there are plenty of bus routes nearby. It's also an easy walk to North Beach, the Marina, Nob Hill, Aquatic Park, Fort Mason, and lots of other cool neighborhoods.

For travels out of the local neighborhoods, we rented a car for three days, and were able to use the indoor garage space Annie maintains just a few blocks away.

And Annie herself was a most gracious hostess. Very pleasant and personable without being in the least bit intrusive.

All in all a wonderful place to stay. This will will our first choice any and all times we go back to San Francisco.

“Great find - excellent location and comfortable”

This B&B was perfect for me and my friends. Annie was a friendly and informative host and provided a clean room with personal extras (cereal, coffee, books etc). We were tempted to use the balcony but it was too cold when we were there. It's hidden away in a quiet suburban area but you only have to walk 5-10 minutes to reach some lovely restaurants, shops and cafes. The cable car is a few steps away. I'd stay here again!

“Perfection”

We recently stayed at Annie's Cottage for four days. The accommodation, the location, parking were wonderful. From Annie's Cottage you can walk just about anywhere (we love hill walking) or ride a cable car. There are many wonderful restaurants in this beautiful Russian Hill neighborhood along with interesting shops & small markets. Many thanks to Annie for making our stay in San Francisco so wonderful. We look forward to a return visit.
