This was a basic motel on Van Ness and Broadway, with free parking, microwave, and refrigerator. The room was clean (although there were a few spots on the carpet), and everything worked fine.
Parking spots are small, so it may take a bit of jockeying to get a large vehicle in the spot.
Be aware that there can be street noise at night, so if that bothers you, stay elsewhere.

Do not stay here! We had the "do not disturb" sign on our door for our whole stay and the maid still came into our room. Things went missing and when we went to tell front desk the guy didn't do anything! He kept saying "I can't do anything about it". Theres so many other things wrong about this hotel but this was the worst! Front desk guy kept saying "I got other customers to attend to". He did not want to handle my situation. I would not stay even if it's free!

It was a great time. I stayed for 4 nights and I didn't get any inconvenience. Cleanings, parking and location was perfect. It could be seen a bit old and not fancy from an outside view but It's totally enough to stay comfortably for your light travel. And there are some nice restaurants and groceries near there like 'the matterhorn swiss' or 'walgreen'. Lastly, I think that their service is good. Unfortunately, I left my belongings at the room, they sent it back to me. They are ready to take care their customers, always. Thank you so much, Inn of the Broadway!

Free parking a bonus, very comfortable room, good cable, strong shower. A little noisy so bring earplugs if a light sleeper and the air con runs a little loud. Great value for money though and it's a convenient location to base yourself from if exploring San Fran. The donut shop just up the hill is great as is the Japanese restaurant just down the hill. Buses stop out front and it's cheap.

A downtown motor inn with free parking that is within walking distance to cable car route, local restaurants and bars. The rooms have been updated and it seems that the exterior is in the process - railings are being painted, room doors definitely need it. This is a motor inn with free parking, that is hard to come by in the city. The rooms are average size, not much room to maneuver around the beds but sufficient for a short stay.
Other reviews (and maybe the website?) said they offer a continental breakfast, but we were told No by the guy working at the front desk, who couldn't tell us where the nearest coffee shop was, since the restaurant adjacent to the inn didn't open until 7:30.
There is a Starbucks one block down Van Ness, on Polk (take a left)
