These are some of the things we loved about the Hotel Del Sol:
Clean and bright room, free wi-fi, heated pool with lounge chairs, tables, and hammocks.

Did I mention the free parking? That in itself is amazing to find this in the city!!

And...the friendly, helpful front desk staff are the best!! (Free continental breakfast each morning and free cookies and lemonade in the afternoon.)

Walking distance to great restaurants and shops too!

We chose this hotel purely because of location. Del Sol truly has a sunny atmosphere because of the joyful colours. B-fast is simple but fresh enough. The room was normal and the walk-in closet made it feel a bit bigger. Staff was friendly. We got room 204 and it was supposed to be quiet. Indeed that was quiet from traffic noise, but there is no good sound insulation so we woke up to a phone conversation above us in the middle of the night! If you are not a "tight sleeper", recommend to take ear blugs along.

Although we liked the location, 2 blocks from Union, 2 from Chestnut, and the free parking, the room was mediocre with almost no storage room

My daughter and I spent two days apartment hunting for her new job. We used Hotel Del Sol as our base. The rooms were clean and bright and colorful but did have a bit of a musty odor...that was minor. There is free parking which is a huge advantage considering lots of hotels charge a minimum of $45 per day. They provide a continental breakfast with bagels, coffee and tea. This is an open courtyard hotel that has lost of color from the pavement to the walls to the palm trees with lights. If you are looking for a base to go explore San Francisco then this is a great place. You have access by bus to almost everywhere...Union and Chestnut streets are close by for shopping and eats...Safe area of the city. WIll definitely stay here again. Staff was very friendly.
