The staff was nice, the room was clean. However, the most disappointing thing was the view from the room. We were on the third floor and faced away from the direction of the wharf. Our view was partially obstructed by someones home and we could see onto their porch. That was disappointing because this was our honeymoon and they didn't have anything with a view available either. :(

When you ask for pillows or any other toiletries, you have to go down and get them. We also have a large vehicle, 94 ford f250 and it barely fit in the space in the garage, but hey, it was free so we didn't complain too much about that.

Other than those little annoyances, the mattress was super comfortable (cali king) and the pillows were amazing. The staff was friendly as could be. Not to mention the location!!! A taxi ride was 8 bucks at the most and it was about a 10 minute walk to the wharf. :) Its worth it, just request a third floor with a view or else you could get a lot of traffic noise from Lombard St.

We stayed at this hotel after reading reviews here on Trip advisor. I was expecting this hotel to be worse than it was. The one review truth is the noise. It is crazy noisy with traffic sounds ALL night long. I had a balcony room over the street. We kept our tv on all night to help drown out the sound. Other than that the room was new and clean and staff is super nice. It is in a nice area of town, safe and clean. Close to the bus and we walked to the wharf. There is a corner store right around the corner that sells dinner food and deli sandwiches. For the price this was the way to go for the budget minded.

I stayed in this hotel at the beginning of September 2011. When we arrived at about 2pm we were given 3 rooms as booked at the rear of the hotel and was warned that one of the rooms may not be ready due to 1 of us originally being booked at the front. As soon as we found out which room it was we spoke to the cleaners and they went to clean it straight away. Check in time is 3pm, so we couldn't complain.

We then walked to Fisherman's Wharf and pier 33 for the boat to Alcatraz it took about 20mins and although it is up hill going back it is an easy walk. The hotel is close to a muni bus stop for the lazy and less mobile.

The hotel rooms are of a good size with a fridge and microwave, coffee making facilities. The bathroom is a good size as well and has a bath with shower over. The sink is just outside the door with a hairdryer. Rooms are cleaned daily and you have a choice of having your towels changed daily by leaving them on the floor.

Would I stay here again?...Yes. Would I recommend it to a friend?...Definately.

When I was looking for a hotel in San Francisco my main concern was to find a hotel close to pier attractions area and with a parking area. That’s why I chose this hotel: it is located in a very quiet area, one block away from Van Ness Ave and few blocks away from the pier area as you could go there by walking. Besides that, it offers free parking, which is very unusual in a big city like that.
Rooms were fresh, recently remodeled, in a classic style. The only drawback is that they don’t offer breakfast.
I recommend this hotel.
