10 days of Heaven ---Love West Maui and this resort, rented off of Mui Dreams Come True-- Misty is very pleasant to deal with ! Pictures were exact-- Unit F404 , Oceanfront, so close to the ocean you feel you are on a houseboat!
Resort is well laid out and very clean, bbq areas spotless.......... no complaints! Will book again......... awesome weather and lots of whale action!! Close to Whaler's \Village... must do the Hyatt Luau as well , perfect and great food!

We have been going to Honolulu for a conference for the last 15 years( How lucky) - we have been to Maui 4 times before - this was the first time at Aston Papakea. We splashed out on a front unit - and I just loved it. The sea is just in front of the unit - - so a loud noise from the sea all the time - which we loved!! So lovely to go to sleep with the noise of the sea!! and it was great for viewing the whales - grounds are lovely - really lovely !!! The resort is wonderful!! Don't take any notice of the beach not in front - you walk just a few steps - and there is a beach!! No problem. It really is a lovely place to spend a holiday. We were on the third floor beach front - in the middle. If you go to Dukes to eat - best book ahead - as there is a waiting list most of the time. A lovely night is at the Jazz bar over the road from the resort - good food also - and good company! Plus if you walk up the beach next to Papakea - there are two lovely resturants - both are good!!!!
If we are lucky enough to go again next year to Honolulu - We would certainly come back again to Papakea - it was lovey - and would pick the same unit!!

We were in a VRBO ocean front unit at Papakea for more than two weeks this visit just ended. L-105 is an excellent choice for anyone desiring a 2 bedroom refinished very modern unit. While the noise of the surf can sometimes be loud in an ocean front unit, you are soon used to it's soothing natural noise. The whale watching from the lanai was fantastic. An endangered monk seal visited the beach in front of our building for about 14 hours. While parking is tight it is always available. This is a family property. The pools were clean and well maintained. The multiple gas BBQ grills were always available and the guests were from all over the world. A great place to meet others from varied backgrounds. Take part in the Wednesday evening Mai Tai get togethers. We will definitely stay here again as the location is just excellent in the Kaanapali area.

We booked this place and were very happy with the whole experience. The only real drawback was that it was almost an hour's drive from the airport, but that didn't play much of a significant role for us.

The people around there are a mixture of owners and people like us, just staying for a few days. Great amenities for grilling, watching whales from the property, a grocery store within walking distance, along with a few wonderful local spots. We went the on premise person to book events for us and if I had to do that again, I wouldn't. We weren't told things about the excursions which would have changed our decision and I am pretty sure we paid more than we needed to, which added to an already expensive Maui experience.

Rooms are nice, quiet, equipped for living. Loved it and would definitely stay there again.
