“Fabulous Ocean View!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Mahina Surf Condominiums. The condos are individually owned so vary in updating, decorating etc. but they all have wonderful views. The location is fantastic, and the condos are adequate. As I said, they are individually owned so some are nicer than others. They all have one thing in common, very small bathrooms. There is coin operated laundry on the premises, which is very nice. The front office staff is terrific, especially Tammy who is super friendly and helpful. The rates are reasonable for Maui, and everyone is supposed to be quiet from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. It is a great resort for children, nice pool and lots of grass to run on. We were there with family so it was nice we could all easily associate with each other at all times.

Room Tip: main floor condos are one bedroom (sofasleeper in living-room) so much handier to the pool etc. Ups...

“Ok but, needs updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

The property itself is very pretty and well maintained however, the unit we stayed in (216) could do with some upgrading or TLC. We have stayed in condo's on Maui many times so this was not our first visit.

In comparison to other units in the same price range we were surprised to find out that there was no maid service for the whole 2wks of our stay. In other complexes we have had a maid come in usually once every 3 days. It is also not very private, as another poster mentioned other units can see in to the condo if you have the slat windows open. In unit 216 several of the slat windows are missing, the couch feels like it needs a good clean and the bathroom upstairs looks like it was an after thought.

As far as noise….. 216 backs on to the road so there is a lot of road noise. Also, the neighbours (215) can be noisey…. Their was loud TV after 10pm, bad banjo playing during the day and I hope you like "wheel of fortune" because you're gonna hear it everyday!!! We did talk to management about this but didn't get much help as the occupants of 215 are the owners of the unit. The best units would be the ocean front ones, less road and parking lots noise.

If you are in the over 65 age group this "could" be a great place for you to vacation. Lots of people in that age group here. Every afternoon there is an aqua exercise group of seniors that meets in the pool. The seniors all seem to know each other and seem to get on well together and tend to congregate at the pool late afternoon to chat. BBQ area is great and there is plenty of parking.

“Nice condo. Good value and great location”

Very nice simple condo resort. Good location and nice amenities, felt like home. They have a fresh water pool which was very nice and open until 9pm every night. There were turtles on the other side of the resort that rested on the rocks every day. A few downfalls were the sprinklers that came on very early in the morning and there was no Air Conditioning which could be problematic if you stay at the Mahina Surf in the summer. If you are 2 couple travelling beware that the loft is not very private. If one couple is sitting in the living room they can see up into the loft! All in all it was a great condo and I would recommned for anyone who was looking for good value and a clean place to sleep.

“Very nice place good value”

The rooms aren't the most modern but otherwise everything was great. The pool is especially nice. It is not right on a beach but the rocky shore makes for a very nice setting. Best part is no added fees. Cleaning, parking etc all included in the daily rate. Only complaint is that they advertise wireless but not all rooms have it. Pretty minor

This was our third time staying at the Mahina Surf. The units are clean, well stocked and very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is perfect-close to great beaches, restaurants, and snorkling!
