“First time to Maui, already saving to come back!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

We ended up going with friends that always stay to Kulakune every few years. We could have not been more pleased. We stayed in 207 and it was perfect for our family of 3.(10 year old daughter). Clean, dishwasher, they had boggie boards and sand toys waiting for us.
Laundry right there. The most laid back safe place I have ever been. Only 40+ units so no one to fight for pool chairs etc with. All oceanview and boy did we see sea turtles and whales everyday. Even saw a rare Monk Seal swim by while laying out. Coffee shop a few blocks to walk to, and Farmers Market. We will be back in 2015!!!

Room Tip: 207 is very nice for 2 to 4 people. Perfect views

“Oceanfront modern condos with all the amenities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Stayed in # 210 for 8 days. Beautiful location, well maintained, great local stores and services nearby. Beautiful oceanfront reef for snorkeling but not wide sandy beaches for swimming but close by to walk or drive to. Kaanapali and lahaina only minutes away by car! Will stay there again.

“Good Value, Well Maintained, Barking Dogs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

Condo has some age but has been well maintained. Everything was clean and worked as it should. The view and sound of the ocean is excellent. No A/C but very comfortable with air flow and ceiling fans. Very small area of beach next door for swimming or laying on the sand. Main issue was the noise level of barking dogs. There were a few across the street but the ones that barked during the night that disturbed our sleep were in the same building.
With no A/C and the windows open for air flow we hardly had a single night that the dogs did not bark and keep us awake. Take a loud sound machine for better sleep. Other than the noise level we were very satisfied and would stay there again if the dogs were kept under control. We were in Room 203.

Aloha! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. We make every effort to provide a relaxed, laid back "aloha" atmosphere at the Kulakane, so it is unfortunate that the "dog noise" kept you up. Please understand, that while we do not allow pets in any of our vacation units, we ARE in a local neighborhood setting, and the neighbors DO own dogs and even a rooster or 2. Hope to see you again soon, mahalo!

“Family vacation Nov 20 to Dec 4th”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

We just got back from staying in Maui for 14days at the kulakane. we had a great time. and stayed in a two bed room unit number 305. the only downfall was there is no elevator. and hard for older people to get too. but the grounds are lovely and well taken care of.

“27 year anniversary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We stayed in room 112....we were greeted with a welcome sign, and the owners were so sweet and had a bottle of champagne and chocolate! It was perfect for snorkling and laying in the sun....a small sand beach next door! The condo was decorated island style, beautifully done! No airconditioning, which would have been nice but was fine! We loved staying here and will totally go back to room 112! Every friday night there is a PuPu party for all the guests at sunset, with the blowing of the conch shells.....very fun meeting new people from around the world! The grounds are impecable! all who work there are fantastic!

Room Tip: The only critisism would be NO airconditioning! that is the only thing!
