Wow! What a great place for a relaxed vacation on Maui. We stayed at the Royal Lahaina for 5 days before moving to The Mauian on Napili Bay Beach and we were so glad that we moved. Although Ka'anapali Beach is a very nice beach, there are so many high rise hotels there and everything is crowded... the beach, pools, etc. Things are more laid back in Napili Bay. The hotel only has a small green sign, so you need to know exactly where to find it. You get off Hwy 30 by turning left (if headed north) toward the ocean on Napilihau St, then right (north) on Lower Honoapiilani Rd. You will go past several Napili rentals (Napili Surf/Hale Napili/Napili Sunset) and then pass the General Store & Snorkel Bob's, then watch for the sign on the left and turn into The Mauian. There are only 44 units in this 2 story complex, with the buildings perpendicular to the 1/2 mile long white sand beach. The 2 buildings closest to the ocean have very good views. The floors, ceilings and furnishing were re-done in 2008 and the rooms are very nice. The mattresses werre wonderful Temperpedic. The floors are tile and the rooms have a kitchenette with a good size fridge, nice countertops, 2 burner stove and microwave. There are also very nice gas grills by the pool. No phones or TVs in the rooms, but they have a large ohana room with one flat screen and free Wifi that doesn't reach to most rooms. They have a free breakfast of fresh island fruits, toast, bagels, cereals, coffee, milk, etc. The staff here are all so polite and respectful. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are always clean. I enjoyed my stay here moer than any place I have stayed in Maui. The beach was only a few steps away and there is a wonderful restaurant, The Sea House. Great food. The snorkeling is great in Napili Bay and the hotel supplies beach chairs and towels. You will fall in love with this place too. This was my first time there and I will be back soon.
