Quick, solo, 4 night trip to Maui, and decided on Lahaina and the Pioneer Inn for convenience, and because of my Best Western points. It allowed me to walk and take the bus almost everywhere because of it's convenient location. Across from the Marina, and right in the middle of everything. Enjoyed the nice, little pool. The room was fine, clean, comfortable-- everything I needed since I didn't spend much time in the room. The bed was great, very comfortable. Bath towels on the smaller side, but in good shape. Pool towels were varied. Wifi worked fine. I had an interior courtyard room, nice and quiet, and liked the little balcony that looked out over the patio and pool. Nice little breeze in the early evening. Hotel is not on the beach, but you can walk a couple blocks to the beach or drive or take the bus to check out several different beaches. The restaurant has a good happy hour, and on certain days, great appetizer offers. If you want a resort, right on the beach, with full amenities, this is not the place for you on Maui. But if you just want a good, convenient place to stay in Lahaina, close to everything, Pioneer Inn is the right place at a fairly good price.

My husband and I found ourselves at the Best Western Pioneer Inn after a mistake in the scheduling of our condo. We had to find a place to stay for our first night on Maui and this hotel has rooms available so we booked one for a night. We actually ended up being very happy that this happened because this hotel was great! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which had good food. The hotel is located in the middle of the shopping district of Lahaina. There are MANY shops and restaurants within walking distance. There are also a few bars nearby, with some great live bands. A word of advice: if you plan to go to bed early, be sure to ask for a room away from the main road. Our room had an adorable little balcony on it that looked out onto the busy street, but we could hear the music from the bars across the street all night and it made it difficult to sleep. That is my only complaint about this place. Everything else was wonderful!

I stayed in the Pioneer Inn last year in May. The rooms were well maintained and housekeeping was extremely clean. The rooms are not very spacious, but unless you have children running around it is completely adequate. Considering the age of the building, the rooms are very well maintained with modern bathrooms that are kept meticulously clean.
The location is superb! It is situated right in front of the harbour, giving easy access to water activities including whale watching(the boat docks right across the street!). The hotel also has a great restaurant with the most friendliest staff I have met! They are all smiles and are always ready to help! The hotel is also situated smack in the middle of the main street making it very convenient to just walk out to shops and restaurants. This also does mean that it gets slightly noisy at night. I had trouble falling asleep some nights due to the noise from the bars and restaurants around the hotel. But, unless you're on a trip for pure relaxation away from all the noise, you just can't beat the location!
Another important point is that there is no elevator going up, which means that you will need to lug your stuff up some steep stairs. So if you have alot of heavy luggage you may find it uncomfortable.
Other than that I had a great stay at the hotel without having to waste anytime getting to places as everything was right at our doorstep!

After checking out of another hotel early due to discomfort, the Best Western Pioneer Inn was a wonderful change. The staff was so friendly, they made you want to stay.

The bed was very comfortable and the rooms have a nice refridgerator for your cool drinks.

Lahaina gets very quiet shortly after midnight and there are plenty of places with great food. Well worth the money.

A hugh variety of interesting shops.

Parking is close and free, along with free internet access.

The bath towels are thick and soft.

A very pleasant place to spend a few days.
