“Rough start----- great finish!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This was our third visit to Maui and our first stay at the El Dorado. We took another couple with us and rented a two bedroom condo. We checked in late and was assigned a condo in the D building which backs up to a busy road. It just did not work for us.The next morning I voiced my concern to the front desk and also the management. They acknowledged my concern and went to work finding more suitable accomodations. All their two bedrooms were booked for the rest of our stay but they were able to show us three studios that were available. We took one in the A building and the other couple took one in the E building.Even though we were not together it still worked out great.I want to thank the staff and the management for a wonderful stay and for going the extra mile for us,we really appreciated it.We look forward to coming back.Mahalo

“Nice Facility But Dated”

Stayed at the El Dorado from 2/2-7 with my daughter and myself. We stayed in a garden studio (J111). We found the grounds very nice and hotel staff most accommodating. The unit we were assigned needs some updating and maintenance, ie peeling wall paper, worn cabinets, etc. Stayed in Wailea last year in a condo complex (which was far better than this condo) for similar cost per night (but quite a bit more this year) so opted to try the El Dorado. It is okay for a okay price. Maybe other units are maintained better.

Room Tip: Look rooms over carefully since each one is different. Problem we had is they were completely booked...

Aloha Russell372:

Thank you for staying with us. I appreciate your kind words about my staff and am pleased that you liked our property.

I apologize that we could not find an alternate condo for you and your daughter. Even if an alternate unit is not available immediately, as may happen when we are sold out, we may have another unit available the next day. I appreciate your candor and have forwarded your review to the unit's owner.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

“"Our" island home-truly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

It is better than before.
Everything that has made us return year after year to this property is still valid and there has been a great addition since last winter. We called it "Pam Sandwiches". Pam has added a cold kitchen to her convenience store-tour desk and now makes fresh sandwiches to order that reasonably price. She will deliver them right to you at the pool or beach cabana along with other refeshemnts.
For the warm greeting by name and big "aloha" when we got there to the parting "aloha" when we left by the staff. Mahalo!
We truly are treated like "owners" by the staff and the real owners .If you want a quiet, well run, island stay with a great beach, sun, rainbows, in the middle of a great golf course withd the Maui aloha spirit, try "our island home".

“Quiet Oasis in Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We have never stayed in a condo on vacation before; however, the Outrigger Maui Eldorado condominium was exceptional, and beyond our expectations. We stayed in a partial ocean view studio with a well maintained golf course outside our lanai. We could see the ocean from the lanai, and, one morning, we actually saw a humpback whale spouting. My sister and her husband stayed in a garden studio, just as lovely with one of three pools nearby. While the building structures are older, the property, especially the grounds, is well maintained. As we walked through the property, there were so many different, colorful flowers and trees throughout. The Outrigger cabana is right on the beach, complete with chairs, tables and towels for their guests. It is a very short, delightful walk from the condos. Since the condos are only two stories high, you do not feel like you are in a city complex. It is quiet and very peaceful. We spent at much time as possible at the beach, and you can walk to the Bare Foot Bar for lunch, right on the beach. As we ate lunch, we watched a humpback whale flap its fins and saw several whales spouting. Our condo had a well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and a very large bathroom. There was ample storage and plenty of room in the studio and on the lanai. The entire Outrigger staff was extremely helpful and friendly, from the front desk staff to the property maintenance personnel. In the lobby, they have a concierge desk (very helpful) and a small store with food, etc. If you need anything, the staff response is immediate and provided with professional, friendly attention.

The Outrigger Eldorado lobby is perfectly located across the street from a less expensive, shopping center that includes a gym, a pizza restaurant, a café, an exceptional Chinese restaurant, etc. Down the road, within walking distance, is Whaler's Village that has a food court, an ABC store, and a number of upscale stores and hotels. In the food court, wonderful shows are provided free on certain nights. One day, we took the Sugar Cane Train (within walking distance from the Outrigger) to historic Lahaina and caught a local bus back to Whaler's Village. Then all we had to do was walk a short distance up the road to the Outrigger.

As we were leaving, a member of the Outrigger staff helped us with our luggage. He kindly wished us Aloha and said that he hoped to see us next year. It was a simple, sincere gesture that made our departure even harder. We came to see to the humpback whales and appreciate the spirit of Aloha, and we were not disappointed. We even saw a monk seal that was resting, under the watchful eyes of the Pacific Whale Foundation volunteers, on the beach near the cabana. Thanks for the beautiful memories!

Aloha Alana B:

Thank you for staying with us!

Thank you, too, for taking the time to post your comprehensive review. Your kind words about my staff are very much appreciated and we're happy to read how much you enjoyed your stay. We especially like how you took the Sugar Cane Train to Lahainatown and made your way back on the bus!

Now that you know the advantages of staying in a condo while you're on vacation, we look forward to seeing again on your next visit to Maui.

“Third stay, great time again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We love this place! This time we got a good rate on a 1 bedroom unit - wow, what a difference from a studio! So much more room and space - was nice I could hit the hay if my husband wanted to stay up and watch TV in the other room. That being said, we have always been pleased with the studios - plenty of room there, too.

As always, the place was clean, up-to-date, great housekeeping, friendly front desk staff, great location. Fully stocked kitchen. Pool was never crowded, always found a place to lounge in the afternoons. You have your own lanai to relax on. Great place - really - if you want a condo with all the amenities - this place has never disappointed us! We use it as a home base to go scuba diving - if you want to spend all day at the beach, though, there is a nice beach closeby (it is a 5 minute or less walk, or a free golf cart ride). Stay here and enjoy Maui!

Room Tip: We have had three different units and all were good. They even let us check out a couple once to see...

Aloha puma123:

Thank you for coming back to see us for the third time!

I'm glad to hear how much you liked your one bedroom condo; our studios are great for two people but the size and layout of a one bedroom condo really makes you feel like you're at home on Maui.

About half of our studios have king beds; the rest have queens. Our one bedroom condos have either one king bed or two queens. We'll be happy to note your bedding request when you make your reservation.

Thanks for taking the time to write and post your review. We'll look forward to seeing you on your fourth stay!
