“Wish I could call this place home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012 via mobile

Visiting from Oahu I was looking for a hotel to relax after an exhilarating journey to the famous summt of Haleakula . From the moment I stepped into the check in office, I felt so welcomed and like I was Coming home from long day of work. All of the staff made sure I had everything I needed. The property has a lush green garden thru out the inner secure walls. There is a 3rd story roof top sun deck , complete with hot tub, cute enclosed/private outdoor shower, and massage room available. It was the perfect relaxing spot to day dream, read, whale watch... And experience the most jaw dropping amazing sunsets. I will definitely be back. All that was missing was a special person to share it with. Perfect romance spot for LGBT visitors. Sunseeker was a great find.

Wow, how wonderful to read!! All of the reviews we receive are distributed to the staff as they are the reason your stay was so enjoyable. This makes everyone sincerely appreciate all they do to make your stay perfect and welcoming.

We really work so hard to be sure that our guests are not treated like guests, but instead one of the Sunseeker Ohana (family). I'm thrilled to know that it shines through and you felt so welcomed and gave us the highest of honors.
As a Hawaiian you are certain to know we genuinely mean this when we say MAHALO NUI LOA!

We can't wait for your next visit to Maui! A hui ho!

“Very satisfied regular visitor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I stay at the Sunseeker almost monthly for work. My search for a regular place to stay was initially based on price to satisfy my employer, so I only needed a basic room. Their least expensive room is an incredible bargain, especially for Maui. That it is an LGBT-centric hotel makes staying there a no-brainer for me. The staff are great. The rooms are always super clean.

I'm not interested in resorts, and before my business travel, I had vacationed on Maui. The Sunseeker is pretty ideal for vacationers who don't want to lay around a resort all day. The north Kihei location is a very central launching point for trips to activities around the island. It's also close to many places to eat and drink in Kihei. The property is across the street from the beach.

The rooftop hot tub area is a great place to have drinks and watch the sunset. I've stayed in a few different rooms and have been happy with all of them. The ones on the back property are more recently re-done and I find the beds more comfortable. Some units have full kitchens which is also nice and can save you a lot on vacations. The included WiFi and parking are wonderful. Some nearby hotels lure you into their dumps with low prices, then have mandatory amenity fees which make the actual price $20+ more per night.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back building have foam or foam topped beds, which I find more comfortable. But if you...

“Great value, friendly staff”

I had a last minute weekend trip to Maui and was trying to decide if I should stay in a fancy Wailea hotel or go for something more modest and affordable. I went with the Sunseeker and I was so glad I did! The property was in great shape, my room was well appointed and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The deck was great at sunset and I loved the hottub. The pool location isn't great, but you are across the street from the beach so who cares?!?!

The kitchenette had enough pots and pans to cook a four course meal. Would definitely stay there again and for a longer period of time.

Room Tip: I picked a room that looked out on the beach/road. The windows are double panes so you can't he...

“My return to the Maui Sunseeker”

I had the good fortune to return to the Maui Sunseeker after my first visit earlier in 2011. I had such a great experience with both the hotel and Maui as a destination that I returned. And it didn't disappoint. I hope that many others will select Maui and the Sunseeker for their vacations in the near future.

Room Tip: Definitely use their website which is very informative on the room types, location within the resort...

“Awesome holiday base for a stay on Maui”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

I spent a week at the Sunseeker over Christmas and loved every minute. Very personal, welcoming place to arrive at after a long flight from Australia.

I loved the location; was easy to get to other parts of the island to explore a little. Though most of my travelling was from the hotel to the beach, which was about 15 or 20 minutes along the highway.

Coming back to the hotel in the evening was always lovely, being able to sit in the spa and watch the sun go down was devine. Loved that the spa was actually hot too. Great to place to meet and chat with other guests from all over the place.

The staff were so lovely. Very approachable and helpful with any queries or to book into tours.

My room was fantastic, great size and with a nice breeze. The fridge was a little noisy and kept waking me up at night, but I understand that's being replaced at some stage so shouldn't bother anyone else.

Highly recommended place to stay, as a solo travellor it was perfect for me.
