I am writing this to you after my Mom, Sister and Nephew stayed in unit #107. We (my mom and I) were both under the impression and was told by you that there was “No Elevator” and therefore my Mom’s party would have to be on the 1st level thus #107. Unit 107 was filthy and miss represented by the web site. Obviously we will never recommend the Royal Mauian to any of our contacts…quite the contrary!

Unit 606 was very clean & cozy, stocked with everything you need, although the carpet could use a good cleaning and/or replacing. The Royal Mauian is very well maintained and within great walking distance to the beach & shopping across the street.

The negative was the non kid friendly pool. We we're rudely yelled out by residents from their lanai's above to be quiet when our kids were simply laughing. Even in the early afternoon because the older residents were "napping". And were advised by one very angry resident to read the disclosure in the elevator that states "The swimming pool is maintained as a quiet place to relax. Residents & guests occupying apartments near the pool appreciate noise being kept to a minimum, as windows are always open & sound carries to their units" If I had know that before we booked the unit we probably would have found a more kid friendly place to stay.

I had to write positively about this condo, unit 119 at the Royal Mauian because I just read a bad review. I'm sure it was just a fluke for those people. We love this unit, and have stayed here 3 times. It has everything you could possibly need. We have stayed in two other condo resorts in Kihei, but none were as well stocked as this one (nor as clean) or on the beach. You just walk two steps from the patio to the walkway and out to the lounge chairs to gaze at the ocean or the stars. It is so convenient.

The furniture is cute and the decor is Hawaiian beach perfect. There are tons of linens, blankets, beach chairs, boogie boards, toys, beach umbrella, coolers and the kitchen had everything. You just cannot beat the price on this condo either. I've never stayed at a condo that stocks soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, paper towels, condiments, coffee filters, plastic wrap, baggies, etc. but these owners do it right.

There are fantastic restaurants located in walking distance and driving anywhere on the island is easy from this spot. We love Kihei and plan to return every year with our children.

The owners are sweet and very accommodating and want to make sure your stay is wonderful. I feel bad for the reviewer that said "beware"...this one is for sure the best kept secret (all other condos in this complex are REALLY expensive). As they say in Hawaii....Aloha!!

I have to negate the review from 2009 that says no impress for #608. We are here October 2010. They have totally remodeled this room, new appliances, granite counter, tile floor, lots of dishes, nice washer & dryer. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. It was perfect for us.

The walkway outside is nicely tiled, as is the condo. Nice tiled shower. Very comfortable bed. The only drawback is the bedroom faces the parking lot and W. Kihei road which is quite noisy. No air-conditioning, but the fans were adequate for October and along with the nice sea breeze. My husband loved pulling the bed out of the couch and sleeping while listening to the waves, but the bed there was too uncomfortable to me.

The beach access is perfect for a walk on the beach after dinner. There's a nice shower down at the lawn to wash the sand off your feet before you head up to the room. You can leave your room barefooted for the walk in the sand. Lot's of restaurants within walking distance and a natural grocery store right across the street. The lawn and pool area are beautiful.

The view from the balcony is awesome - beautiful ocean sunsets along with the sound of crashing waves.

The BBQ area up on top is beautiful. Big BBQ grills lined up on one side, lots of tables, a couple of serving carts, and a room with a sink and refrigerator and serving counter. A very nice setup for a gathering at sunset. There is a nicely tiled bathroom up there as well.

We stayed for 10 days and the cleaning lady came while my husband was taking care of business on his computer one morning about halfway though our stay. He said she was a really nice lady and she cleaned while he stayed and worked. It didn't really matter as we could wash the towels as much as we wanted.

This room was totally worth it. I'm still here for 3 more days and I wish I could stay longer. It will be sad to leave.
