“We cannot recommend this darling little piece of paradise too highly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2010

Having discovered this private oasis on the internet, we would highly recommend Dolphins Point Maui to anyone seeking a romantic, rejuvenating and truly relaxing vacation.
Beautifully appointed suites, comfortable beds, lovely linens and attention to detail were all part of the package at Dolphins. Located on a superb beach in South Maui, our top priorities were immediately met ... we didn't even have to put on our shoes! Sun, sand, sea 'n surf were all ours for the taking ... just a few barefoot steps from our suite!
We felt welcome from the first moment we made contact with our hosts. We felt pampered by the service we received, and with the variety of beach-going and picnic-making amenities that were thoughtfully supplied. From snorkel gear to beach towels to umbrellas and more ... all was provided exclusively for our personal use for the duration our stay. Gracious Hosts, Jackie and Larry were attentive to our needs and wishes. Intuitively, they seem to know the secret of what keeps their guests coming back year after year.
Our most memorable meals originated at Dolphins Point. Lingering around a barbeque of favourite foods, relaxing over a long dinner and enjoying the setting sun right from the common lanai of the secluded Dolphins Property, our evening dinners translated into pleasurable romantic dining experiences.
So taken with the venue for our 20th anniversary, we have rewarded ourselves once again with another booking in 2011 for our 21st. We cannot recommend this darling little piece of paradise too highly!

“Beach, breeze, beautiful sunsets, outstanding accommodations....a little piece of heaven!!”

We arrived after 22 hours of travel from Labrador and were quickly rejuvenated when we stepped out thru the scrub to the gorgeous beach in front of Dolphins Point. We had 2 weeks of breathtaking sunsets and days of soaking in the sea. This was a wonderful find! Jackie and Larry are terrific hosts, genuinely friendly and extremely helpful! The suites are FULLY stocked with every imaginable thing you could need (and what I couldn't find, Jackie graciously provided), VERY clean with lovely linens and ample towels for beach use. All kinds of beach gear ( including chairs and umbrella) were also available. All the suites are lovely, but we loved the Hibiscus best with the ocean breeze thru the window at night. The common area with lawn chairs, patio tables and barbecue, and the outdoor shower in the privacy of the yard, to rinse off the seawater and sand, were great features. We, of course, did the Hana Highway, snorkeling and sunrise at the Crater (and DP is very well placed in terms of location...central to all you want to do on Maui) and touring around, but spent most of our time walking the 20 paces from our room to the beach and back and forth. I was worried as I had read on the internet that the Kam 1 beach wasn't clean...not true at all.....it was spotless and from our place you could easily walk along to a number of other beaches in the area. Our 6 year old loved this spot! The Wailea area of hotels just south of here is very pricey and DP is VERY reasonable for all the extras you are getting. Feels like a cosy B&B with your own privacy. Thank you, Jackie and Larry, for a most wonderful holiday. We will definitely return.

“Wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

Our extended family stayed for the week so we had all three units. It was perfect - family togetherness with a chance to have some privacy when you want it. The grounds are geat for families - tons of outdoor space for family meals and room for the kids to run around, the beach is literally right there, they provide beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, sand toys - all the stuff you can't drag on the plane but that you really want to have. We loved it and have already reserved for next year.

“Swaying palm trees, gental trade winds, and beautiful sunset are all yours at Dolphins Point.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2010

We had a wonderful & memorable time staying at Dolphins Point. We were traveling with extended family so we rented all three vacation suites. All suites have distinct and different decor, tasteful, yet fun to be in and around. My personal favorite is the one bedroom unit. It was recently remolded what I like the most about this suite is that it has open floor plans with minimal walls and barriers and the new furnishings, understated elegance with a true Hawaiian flair . The lucky girls who arrived first quickly occupied this room. The two bedroom unit being central part of the house offers the best panoramic ocean view out of the three suites. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw the studio. It is very spacious for a studio and being the corner suite makes it the coolest suite of them all.

But who wants to stay inside, really, when we have the ocean just steps away. I didn't count how many steps it took me before my bare feet touched the sand but my sisters, brother, and cousin, they grabbed the boogie board from the house and ran off to the beach. I've never seen them so excited and joyous. The Kamaole beach has the finest and softest sand I've ever laid my feet on and I was assured of this once I got to Waikiki. There's no comparison. Waikiki beach is really lame.

My parents, uncles, and aunties didn't do much. They rested on the lawn chairs in the yard or went down to the beach and put up the umbrella and enjoyed the sun and the beers. At night, they would cook up a feast and we'd come home and hook up our camcorder to the TV and show them what we saw at Jaws, Molokini, and Paia.

The owners Jackie and Larry are so gracious, nicest people I've ever met. We were a rowdy group and they were pretty cool about it so I couldn't thank them enough.

By the way, we held our wedding ceremony on the lawn. It was a beautiful day. We are proud and happy that we had our wedding at Dolphins Point.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2009

This is the exact place we had in mind as to the "perfect place to stay" when we went to Hawaii. It was our first trip to Hawaii & throughout the years you develop an idea of the "perfect" trip. Dolphins Point contributed to that. Right on the beach with easy access, privacy yet easy to get to shopping & food.
