“Love Mauiparkshore”

We've stayed at Mauiparkshore for the last 20 years. We love it here. It is away from all the busy tourist hotels and usually is nice and quiet. The location is excellent, it is right across from the beach and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops. The full kitchen makes it easy to make food and you don't have to worry about always going out to eat, instead you can just relax in the spacious 2 bedroom aparments.

  • Liked — Spacious Rooms
  • Tips/Secrets — Ask for the rooms that are perpendicular to the road, that way you don't get the nighttime sun.

“Beware the Road Noise”

We stayed at the Maui Park Shore condo for 7 nights and we wanted out after the second. The problem was that we were in a 4th floor unit right next to the road. There is no air conditioning, nor is any needed as long as you keep the windows and lanai door open for ventillation. Kehei road is a busy road all hours of the day and night, so if you are a light sleeper, what you will hear is not the sound of the waves, but the sound of cars and trucks driving by, many with their radios blasting. Unfortunately, with it being peak season, Oihana Property Management gave a quick "nothing we can do to help" and blew us off.
What we learned: if you are going on vacation in Hawaii to be on the ocean, find a place that doesn't have a road between you and the beach. We moved up to Kaanapali for four days and had an awesome condo for the same price right on the ocean where we were able to watch whales all day. What a difference. Make sure you know exactly what you are getting before you go, because if you are not happy, you may be stuck with it.

“Great Location, Avarage Unit”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2005

Stayed here at the end of June. Our unit had only 1 queen size bed in both bedrooms. We expected 1 king and 2 double beds..... We were 3 adults plus 1 child, so we had to use airbed. Luckily there was an airbed in the unit, but only manual! foot pump and the bed leaked a little and had to be refilled every night. Furniture in the living room was minimal, there was no coffee table and the sofa had oversized, not fitting slip cover. All rooms had fan, no A/C, but that was not a problem. There was no hair dryer (watch out ladies) in the unit, so you may need to bring your own and some of the towels were stained. Kitchen was fully stocked with appliances, but we run out of toilet paper and paper towel after couple of days. I guess you should buy your own. We saw some nicer looking units, but I'm not sure if those were also for rent. We required handicap accessible on the ground floor and that worked well. BBQ area looked great (we didn't used it), pool was also clean and well maintened, but no toys and kids stuff at the pool allowed!. I'm not sure if we would return to this condo in the future, but overall we had fun on Maui. I guess activities always outway the sleeping condition.

“Stayed at the Maui Parkshore for five days in May -”

It's in an excellent location, facing the ocean. You can hear the waves crashing from your balcony/patio. All of these units are privately owned, and are not air-conditioned. Ours, although very comfortably furnished, had a non-functioning ceiling fan in the livingroom (a floor fan took the place of it), and the fan in one bedroom worked, but with a high whine. Although our unit was extremely well stocked with dishes, utensils, small appliances, etc., it lacked one thing: a can opener. It was an experience to pry open a can of beans with a knife. Perhaps someone took off with it. The condominium complex itself is very well maintained. A word of warning: the office hours are short. When we arrived, at about 5:00 p.m., the office was closed, and there was a sign with our name and an arrow pointing to a metal box, which apparently contained our keys. Neither the condo renting company nor Travelocity informed us that we needed a key code to open the box during off-hours. A woman happened to go by us and told us where the complex's manager was, and she checked us in. This could have been unpleasant. It is a good value for the money, and, over all, we had a wonderful time. I don't think it's possible to have otherwise on this beautiful island. Don't know if we would stay there again, though.

“A Perfect Piece of Paradise”

The Maui Parkshore is the perfect place to stay if you want to be away from the crowd and just relax.
It is right accross from the beach and also has a lovely pool, BBQ area and grounds. Nothing fancy just peaceful. If you like to people watch or whale watch, this is the place. All Condos are the same 2 bedroom 2 bath. Some have been remodled. There are 4 floors but we stay on the ground floor and just walk out of our condo to the beach. We eat all meals on the lania. There is no air conditioning but have never needed it. All rooms have ceiling fans and when you open the windows you get a nice ocean breeze. Oh yes the sunsets are wonderful too. We used to stayin a much more expensive condo but I will never go back to those. The is beautiful, relaxinging, peaceful and half the price.
It's our hawiian home.
Yours sincerly
Roberta Delawski
