“Beach Access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

aFamily of four stayed in condo #302. It is a third floor unit, lanai with view of the property, pool, parking. The condo was very nice, updated, clean with all the amenities the boogie boards and beach chairs came in handy. House rules were minimal. 1 queen bed and two twin beds and pillows were comfortable. In unit washer and dryer came in handy allowed us to pack light. Has an obstructed view of the ocean, just right across the street. Because it is located on S. Kihei Road expect busy road noise. Can hear the ocean surf after 11:00 pm when the traffic dies down. Well-kept beach, so well kept, woken by loud leaf blower on one of our mornings. Nice family friendly Kamaole III beach with snorkeling, body boarding and playing in the sand. Recommend early morning walk along Kamaole I, II, III. Quick road trip to other beaches. Walking distance to shops, restaurants, night life, and grocery store. Pool was clean and well kept, I did not see a Jacuzzi. Celebrated a wedding, other friends and family at nearby hotel/condo locations.

Room Tip: I would recommend upper level rooms. Lack of privacy in the first floor units.

“Maui Parkshore, S.Kihe, Maui”

Back in wet and cold British Columbia from our winter break in wonderful Maui. We really enjoy our stay at the Maui Parkshore, it's our home away from home. We have always been fortunate enough to meet friendly and interesting people there. The common areas and the pool area are always in tip top condition thanks to Resident Manager Jeff, who never appears to take a day off. He's always busy doing something, but never too busy to answer any questions you may have.

The location is ideal for families, and just about anyone, just across the road from Kamiole Beach 3. A short stoll away is a little strip mall featuring avariety of stores and restaurants. The bus service has expanded and costs only $1.00. and the bus stops right outside the complex. The noise from the road can be a little distracting sometimes, but a small price to pay for a stay in Paradise.

I am already counting down the days to my next visit in 2012.

“Jeff was great! We stayed in Unit 110”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

I too, do not understand the unfair criticism of Jeff. He was terrific the 3 weeks we were there last October. He was up very early every morning to clean the pool and 'patrol' the area, cleaning and tidying up. He was always pleasant to chat with and gave lots of advice on the complex itself and nearby areas.
We stayed in ground unit 110 rented from Tom at Dreams Come True on Maui http://www.dreamscometrueonmaui.com. Since there were only 2 of us, we chose to just have access to the nicely decorated living area, main bedroom and bath at a discounted rate.
Note that the attached bathroom (the tiles, fan and shower in particular) needs to be updated!
We bought a rack so we could store shampoo etc. above the shower floor, and an answering machine. Then we had everything we needed in the condo. It was a great deal for the price.
The lanai was huge (but not very private being on the ground level) and you could watch the sunsets every evening to the SW. (the unit faces the back of the BBQ/Recycling Shed/Pool changing area so you need to look to your left.) The pool was just a few steps to the right from the lanai – the pool and Kamaole beach III (my fave) were very convenient.
The noise was quite loud at times, but the great location made it tolerable. The traffic noise, garbage trucks and weedwackers didn’t really bother me as that was during the day.
The main bedroom is in the back of the unit away from the street, so nights were restful and you could even hear the ocean at night if the surf was high.
The Kamaole Sands tennis courts are behind the unit, so if you choose to sleep in (beyond daybreak) you will hear the ‘bonk’ of tennis balls.
Still, you can’t really beat Kam 3! The unit was booked this year, so we will be trying out Halealaka Shores next door for Oct 2010.

“Jef f(the ground's keeper) is a Great Guy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2010

I felt bad when someone wrote negatively about our ground's kepper, Jeff. We have stayed at the Maui Park Shore for many years now, in fact the condo we stay in is just next door to Jeff's. He does a great job of keeping the place immaculate. Rules are a good thing becasue they keep things in order. Just a few days ago I had a problem with my dishwasher, those things are to be looked after by contacting the owner but Jeff came in and looked at it for me and when I contacted the owner I was able to explain exactly what was wrong. He would have fixed it but the part was new and under warrenty. Thanks Jeff! Keep up the good work. We love the Park Shore. The Delawski's

“Loved Unit #114”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2008

My husband and I just spent 3 wks at the Maui Parkshore in Unit #114. This unit is located on ground level and is easily accessible. You don't have to climb stairs or take the elevator. The kitchen has just been remodelled and looks fantastic. All the amenities are there including washer/dryer, fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher. We usually eat breakfast and lunch at the condo and most suppers but of course we like to treat ourselves to a night out at one of Maui's excellent retaurants.

The best part about the Maui Parkshore is the closeness to the beaches. Just a hop, skip and a jump across South Kihei Rd and Kamaole Beach III is right there. My husband loves to snorkel and quite often sees sea turtles at this location. Makena (or Big Beach) is only a 10 minute drive south.

The Unit faces west so you can see the beautiful Maui sunsets every night. There is a pool for guests only and also a well maintained BBQ area with 4 BBQ's. We love Kihei because of it's many beaches and the sunshine. Will definitely be back for another visit.

  • Liked — new kitchen and closeness to beaches
