We thoroughly enjoyed our accomodations at Alii Kai. After reading the previous reviews, you need to understand that these units are owned by an individual and don't offer traditional hotel services. Each unit is unique based on the owner's personal taste and style. These are condo units and you should provide items for daily living. Grocery & conveniece stores are close by and Kamaole Beach (beautiful) is across the street
1 1/2 blocks away. We loved the location, facilities and accomodations (Unit C407). We plan to make this an annual vacation spot. Great restaurants and shopping, plus plenty of sun and water!!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend.

i stayed there with my sister, her 6 year old daughter, my 21 year old daughter and our 15 year old niece. our parents were in another condo close by. at one point, our nephew also came to stay. we had several meals with everyone there, and it never felt crowded. as you can imagine, a house full of women is constantly showering: in the morning, after the beach, before going out for dinner, etc etc. we never had a problem with a lack of hot water. we also did at least one or two loads of laundry every day.
i have been to maui several times and lived there for a short while, as well. alii kai is perfectly situated in the center of kihei. it is in walking distance to two of the best beaches in kihei, and a cute little shopping center, with a variety of restaurants, shops and a health food store, if you don't feel like getting in your car and driving anywhere. it is very easy to have a stress free, relaxing vacation! which is just what i did.

We stayed in a beautifully renovated, ocean view one bedroom suite at Kihei Alii Kai. The suite was well kept, clean and had undergone recent and numerous renovations. The condo building is in an excellent location and the building amenities are simple but just what we needed. The pool and hot tub facility was clean and the perfect spot to relax after a morning at the beach, which was just a stroll down the street. The BBQ areas were wonderful for cooking our meals and fresh catch from our deep sea fishing excursion.
I would recommend this building and this unit specifically to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in Maui. My fiance and I had a fantasitic time and can't wait to return!
My only comment would be to make sure you choose your unit wisely! These units are all individually owned and some are cared for more then others. We highly recommend this unit D206 specifically and we will definetly be booking that condo for next time!
All in all a wonderfully relaxing and romantic week in Maui!

The Pros: good location, quiet at night

The Cons: not properly cleaned, unit badly needs upgrading. Matteress is an uncomfortable chunk of foam (very hard on the back), fan in bedroom too noisy to use, had to repair bathtub fixture before I could use the shower. Parking is a long walk from the room. Mattress on fold-out couch is a joke. No beach stuff available (chairs, boogie boards etc).
