“Great stay”

We just returned from our stay at Punahoa. We were in #301 and really enjoyed our days here. The room was nicely decorated and had all the amenities we needed during our stay. It is located close enough to walk to shops and restaurants, (our favorite was the Kihei Cafe for breakfast and cinnamon rolls. Beaches nearby were great for walking or you could find a sheltered little nook right out front near the rocks when you didn't feel like going off for different beaches. Management was great, friendly and efficient. Plenty of lounge chairs, BBQ to use when you want. Air conditioning wasn't needed with the louvers on the windows we had quite a breeze blowing through at times.( you can adjust them as needed) A little bit of noise from the road when big trucks went by in the bedroom when we were sleeping but from the lanai or livingroom only the sounds of the waves were heard. Really a pleasant and laid back place. Hope we get to return again soon.

“Great condo right on the beach!”

We stayed at the Punahoa for our honeymoon and were very happy with the apartment and the customer service provided by the managers. Terry & Lori are friendly and helpful - don't hesitate to say hi or ask them questions! On our first night we rented a movie and couldn't get the VCR to work - they brought in a new TV the next day and wrote out instructions for us! The apartment was nice and clean, and the view is unbeatable. Maui sunsets have to be one of the best shows on earth. A lovely little beach is just steps away - perfect for playing in the water. The condos are tucked away on a quiet side street just off of Kihei's main drag. Kihei is a good, central location for exploring the island.

“My favorite place in Hawaii”

I stayed at Punahoa with my family back in 2009. When my husband and I were planning our wedding in Maui there was one place that I wanted to stay. We looked at multiple hotels and I kept thinking about Punahoa. I am so happy that we stayed here. Our room was 401. This room is AMAZING! The room has a beautiful kitchen, it is modern, clean, and roomy. Since we stayed on the top floor we had an extra large lani area. The three rooms on top are allowed to enjoy this but we never had anyone bug us. Its quiet and relaxing. My husband and I wished we could live there permanatly! The view off the lani is stunning! Everynight we made sure to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and the beautiful sunsets. I think we have about 200 sunset photo's (none that actually do it justice). The location of Punahoa is perfect. Walking distance to lots of shopping, resutants, and everything you could possibly need. STEPS TO THE BEACH! We fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves everynight! The manager Terri is wonderful! He is full of great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. He makes you feel like you are part of a family as soon as you arrive! Anytime I come to Maui, I will stay here. No if, ands, or but's about it! :)

“Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!”

My husband and I stayed in 401 on the top floor for two weeks in August. We had read all the reviews and had pretty high hopes, but were still so surprised and happy with the great condo and location. So happy, in fact that I'm actually struggling for words to describe our vacation--we had everything we could possibly need and then some. The condo was spotless and beautiful with all the comforts of home. The owner seemed to know exactly what guests would need. The views were absolutely incredible--the gorgeous photos on the site and other reviewers posts do not even do it justice--you have to see it to believe it. Watching the paddlers from our balcony every morning was so fun--almost got the nerve to try it, but not quite! The location was fantastic, with a great beach and warm, gentle water literally right outside the door--and a very short , pleasant walking distance to shops and great restaurants--from casual to fancy. We did our share of exploring--even spent a night in Hana, but the Punahoa was so comfortable that we chose to spend several of our days just hanging out "at home." And Terry and Laurie were so friendly and helpful--they could not have been better hosts. They seem to enjoy the Punahoa and that makes guests enjoy, too. While driving around the island we visited other areas and, of course, all of Maui is wonderful and beautiful, but we were SO happy we had chosen Kihei and the Punahoa. It is without a doubt the best place to refresh and get a new outlook. No hesitation in recommending the Punahoa to anyone of any age!

“Ideal home base”

We couldn't have found a more ideal place as our home base. Our studio unit had ample storage for the two of us, and it was fully equipped right down to binoculars and matches for the candles. The beach is sheltered and calm - perfect for swimmers of all ages. From our unit, we watched a heron fish on the rocks in the early morning. Crabs and helmet urchins were plentiful, and there was even a wedding on our beach one afternoon. Friendly resident dog walkers shared information and advice. We explored the whole island from this central location. Visit the local hangout, Surfside Deli, across from Kalama Park for affordable, generous servings and good conversation.
