“Leina'ala 405 was fab!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We were lucky to enjoy Leina’ala 405 on lovely Maui for the week of Jan 12-20. The unit is perfect! Two bedrooms, one with a double and the other with two twins. We were sold on booking this place based on the photos of the view from the lanai – it was spectacular – the iconic Hawaiian sunset view of the ocean with swaying palm trees. The building does have an elevator which we used for our luggage but then we used the stairs thereafter for some exercise. The resident managers are super nice and always willing to chat with you and wish you a nice day. The pool is small but super cute and very clean – plus there never seemed to be many people using it so it was like having your own private pool anyway!

The beach in front of the building is nice for walks but sadly not for swimming – that would be the only negative thing I have to say. Kite boarders did like the area on a few windy days. As such, I do feel that a car rental is necessary if you stay here. Besides, there’s so many great beaches to experience I wouldn’t want to stick to just one anyway! (other than other condos there's not much in the immediate vicinity of Leina'ala - I'd say everything is a drive - or a kinda long walk)

If you want to taxi into Kihei for some drinks, it’s about $10 each way and the taxis seem to be readily available.

We very much enjoyed our time at Leina’ala!

“Great escape”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

My fiance and I stayed here when we attended a family wedding in the Kihei area. Most of the family were staying in the Kihei area so we jumped from one lodging complex to another. We enjoyed coming back here to relax, while at the same time being able to hop over to the Fairmont or the Ho'olei complexes to visit with family. The unit we stayed in had a great view but could use some updating. The bedroom was stuffy so we slept in the lving room where the air circulation was better. The pool here is also quite small, compared to the pool at the Fairmont Kea Lani where we spent time with our other family members who were staying there. However, we liked being able to escape afterwards to the serene like setting here. We would likely stay here again, and would like to try a renovated unit.

“Wonderful place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

We really enjoyed our stay in room 402. I was a little concerned at first since there weren't any reviews on this particular condo that were recent, but I assure you it is a great stay.

All condos face the ocean from your lanai, so you're guaranteed a great view no matter where you stay. The pool is small, and you have to bring your key to not only get into the pool, but out. (or you'll lock yourself in and have to jump the iron)

This location is close to a lot of great restaurants like Coconut's and Kihei Caffe, and Cafe O'Lei.

The unit itself was clean (though the artificial plants had caked on dust- but I didn't mind as we weren't there to sit around all day) and everything was in working order. The only gripe which is very small, is there is only 1 small window air conditioning unit that is to cool the entire condo. Unfortunately, it doesn't assist well in cooling the bedroom. If you arrive like we did and it is 82 degrees in there- then open all the windows and screen door on the lanai. The breeze from the ocean cools the unit and pulls the "hot air" out quickly. Unpack during that time, turn on the air then and leave for dinner- by the time you get back all will be well. Another gripe? While the bed was great it had the type of pillows where your head sinks to the bottom. But again, stack them up and all is well- just a personal preference.

Compared to other condos aesthetically speaking, the Leinaala is a better bang for the buck and guaranteed ocean view. It also has books, public washer and dryer, and beach accessories for residents and guests to use. (Noodles, boogie boards, foot ball, umbrellas, etc- quite an array of items which are doubled in quantity- no need to sign them out or pay, just grab N go, return when done)

If anyone has this room and has q's, just send a private message and I'll be happy to give details on the unit.

“I keep on returning!”

This is my second stay at Leinaala in the last two years and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The location is central, the grounds very well kept, the complex is extremely quiet.
I would highly recommend Leinaala as it has a very comfortable feeling to it and the on-site managers are very helfpul & polite. My home away from home.
