“A slice of heaven.”

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in November/December, 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The second story view out into the "jungle" and window view of the ocean was a delightful experience. We took full advantage of the outdoor lava-rock shower and the huge avocados and mangos that had fallen from the trees on the property. We enjoyed the full kitchen and appreciated having the coffee, sugar, spices, oils, condiments, etc. to prepare our own meals. It was very pleasant and peaceful to sit out the screened-in lanai and enjoy the warm, sweet air of Hawaii. We especially enjoyed hiking to the falls and through the Bamboo Forest in Haleakala National Park and along the coastal trail in Waianapanapa State Park.

We appreciated Robin's attentiveness to our questions or needs and want to thank her for making our stay at the Hamoa Bay Bungalow so comfortable and special.

We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend this location for anyone looking to get away from it all and enjoy the activities and peaceful, natural beauty of the Hana area.

Mahalo, Stan & Kim Binnie

Room Tip: The bungalow was perfect for a couple. Families probably should choose the larger nearby house.

“Gorgeous, comfortable house”

My BF and I stayed here 2 nights in Sept 2011. This is an amazing house (there is also a smaller guesthouse on the premises as well that is a studio). The main house has a master bedroom with en-suite, and a small bedroom that has access to a 1/2 bath (there is a 2nd shower outside).

Updated kitchen, rustic dining room/4 season room (that I swooned over), medium size living room area, and a mud room. This house has been decorated in what I perceive as SE asain/asian/hawaiian... very tasteful. Rustic and modern at the same time.

The grounds are very large, and you can see where a very old (100's years old?) foundation of an old house used to be. There are also fruit trees everywhere.

One of the best things about this house is that it's a 3 minute drive to the most beautiful beach in the area. Thank you for an amazing stay!!!

Room Tip: There is a master BR (king bed I believe) with ocean view!!!, and a 2nd very small BR (with double b...

“Miss it already!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

My partner and I stayed in at Hamoa Bay Bungalow for 4 days of a 7 day trip to Maui in July - and I wished we had booked it for the whole trip. The bungalow is absolutely perfect for a couple who love being near nature and are looking for R & R and privacy on their holiday. There are also some beautiful beaches only a short drive away.

It is on the same property as the larger house but still has sufficient privacy-and we were lucky enough to have the grounds to ourselves for our stay.

The bungalow is comfortable and quirky, with the shower and bath on the balcony, so if nothing else the bungalow should get an award for having the bathroom with the best views!

Like the grounds the bungalow is beautifully kept and underneath the bungalow is a wonderful outdoors lounge area with couches and a hammock.

Words can't really convey how special this property is, seeing is believing:)

P.S I would have uploaded photo's however wasn't able to

“Beats a resort any day!”

This place is paradise! I spent four nights here with my family in the Hamoa Bay House last week, and I don't think we could have stayed anywhere better. The house itself is incredibly stylish and comfortable, and the garden - where we barbequed our dinner every night - is gorgeous. Hamoa Bay (the nearest beach) is perfect - small and uncrowded with delicious aqua blue waves to play in. The town is laid-back and friendly - the polar oppositte of the touristy glitz at Waikiki. We found the drive along the Hana Highway a bit hairy (especially as it was on the wrong side of the road for us), but it provided some stunning views and was well worth it for the wonderful stay at Hamoa Bay House.

“Lusciously Romantic Cottage Ideal for Couples”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2011

My wife and I spent five days at this wonderful, tropical property and loved every minute. In order not to be repetitive, I will not give a detailed description of it since I agree with prior guests.

However, I would like to emphasize that it is important to remember to use insect repellent when you are wandering the grounds, barbecuing, or using the outdoor washer/dryer, and to make sure the screened door remains closed so as to not allow mosquitos to enter the cottage.

If you are looking for a relaxing stay and don't need the services provided by a hotel then by all means stay at this sparkling clean, beautifully decorated and ideally located vacation rental. You'll be glad you came and look forward to the day you can return.
