While we have had the good fortune to have visited the fabulous island of Kauai and many of the other populated islands in the chain previously, we found our stay this year at #219 Pali Ke Kua to be near perfection for a couple fairly seasoned travelers.
The location, in the Princeville resort area, has facilities for hiking, strolling, golf, jogging and other amenities within walking distance as well as a nice private beach below the condo. A shopping strip at the entrance to the resort provides a full grocery, a few interesting shops, a cafe, a coffee shop, restaurants and (very important) a Lappert's Ice Cream shop. A library and Post Office are also nearby.
World class hiking, including the famed Kalalau Trail, and beaches to numerous to mention, are short drives away. A very short, scenic trip slightly West delivered us to the charming and very walkable little town of Hanalei.
Though we seldom spend much time "in the room" on vacation, the amenities in the recently, and beautifully, renovated unit #219 gave us reason to just hang out at the condo a bit. A well equipped kitchen with new granite and tile had us having more evening meals in than out for once. An entertainment center and Wi-Fi are provided, and shelves are stocked with books, videos and other items to help visitors find what best suits their interests in the area.
Wherever we might have been on the island we made an effort each evening to be back "home" on the Lanai for what must be the best vantage for sunset on the island, with Makana, "Bali Hai" and the edge of the Na Pali coast in view.
In what must be one of the most beautiful spots on the planet, our stay at #219 Pali Ke Kua provided one of our very best vacations, and we hope to return.
Room Tip: Check for renovations, ocean view from lanai
