“Very nice B&B! Always again!”

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Princeville B&B for four nights. It started with a very friendly booking over the phone, a warm welcome at the B&B. The whole house and our room was more than clean and quiet. The owners were not present instead there were friends of them who were nice host. The breakfast which Phyllis and Mike prepared for us every morning was very good.
The house is not very close to the beach that is the only negative, but if you are on holidays here in Kauai you defnetly need a rental car and do you really want to spend the whole stay on the same beach or spend more money with a hotel and laying at the pool with hundrets of other people???
We also stayed with another B&B here in Kauai, but this is definetly our favourite place.

“It was OK. Clean, but just OK.”

Great location on a golf course. Rooms were nice sized and clean, but window coverings were not sufficient for privacy, so other guests walking around porch could see directly into other rooms. Owners were not there -- some friends were covering -- nice people, but not real experienced in B&B hosting. Breakfasts were OK. Not the best B&B we've ever stayed at and not the worst. So if you are just looking for a place to crash between doing all the wonderful things there are to do on Kauai, without the special feel you get from good B&B's, this place would work.

“Spectacular Penthouse”

This upstairs room has distant (but still impressive) views of the Pacific in two directions and a view of a golf course in another. High ceiling, large windows, 32(?) inch TV, comfortable furniture(including king-size bed), wall to wall carpeting (shoes are left outside in Hawaiian tradition), wonderfully decorated, and lots of extras like tissues, hair drier, Kauai reading material, coffee pot and microwave. The bathroom is modern and clean with two sinks, shower and whirlpool. No A/C, but we really didn't need it. The breeze blew constantly through and there are several ceiling fans. Gary cooks breakfast at 8 A.M. Some delicious recipes and fresh fruits. As we were finishing, Billie joined us and provided all sorts of information about events and tours in the area. Any recommendations we followed were accurate and worthwhile, and they will make reservations for you. Rooms are available downstairs for less money, and I'm sure they are also well-furnished, and you get the same breakfast, but the view upstairs was worth the price. Another plus, once you are there no one comes into your room, so you have privacy and the ability to come and go without encountering room cleaners.

“Friendly hosts”

We stayed here in late May and thought it a wonderful place as a base for exploring the north shore. The hosts were friendly. Gary cooked us some lovely breakfasts, not too hardy but fresh juice and good coffee and one warm dish such as banana pancakes, quiche, berry waffles, etc. Beware, Billie is intent on getting you to book activities through her, but she shares info and then goes away. The room was spotless and modern with a small cable TV. I liked we had our own entrance. THe location is perfect. 10 minute walk to a secluded beach; near shopping and 5 mintue drive to Hanelei (a town with great food). It is a modern looking American house on a golf course, so if you are looking for "character" this may not be the place. We would definitely go back to the Hale Aha B&B.

“Nice little place.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2005

The hostess was incredibly friendly, accomodating and welcoming, and the host was a fine breakfast cook, great smoothies and heart-shaped waffles for valentines day. The house is on the golf course and within walking distance of the beach (no view). It's a good place to hang your hat, but not really the best place to spend the day. Upon entry to your room, you notice the Christian video they have provided for you to watch and keep "with our compliments". If you are put off by this, stay elsewhere. Otherwise a nice place, and the surrounding area (north shore) is the best on Kauai. Have fun!!
