“A true gem”

My husband and I just returned from a month vacation on Kauai. We were impressed by Prince Kuhio 113 right from the planning stage. Both Lisa, the owner, and Julianna of Ala Muku Vacation were pleasant and easy to deal with. The garden/pool area of PK is lovely and well-maintained and we loved our east bedroom view of Prince Kuhio park. The condo itself met our expectations and beyond. It was extremely clean, and met all our needs and wants. The location was perfect for us: Near to all the Poipu beaches, but with easy access to the Hannappe and Waimea regions. We journeyed to Hanalei and Princeville several times (lovely areas as well)
but were happy to come back to our home away from home.

“Excellent location, and everything we needed”

My husband and I stayed at the Prince Kuhio, unit 136, for ten days in October 2011. We arranged the stay through VRBO, and everything was handled very well. The rate was more than fair, the owner's agent easy to communicate with, and he provided answers to all of my questions. He even greeted us when we arrived! The unit was large, comfortable and well-stocked with most everything that we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped and contained those essentials that are often forgotten (coffee filters, corkscrew). The unit is a ground floor studio, at the end of the hallwway, so pretty quiet. There is an internet connection so if you want to bring your laptop, as we did, you are set. There is an air conditioning unit, but also lots of windows that open, so you can take advantage of breezes. The swimming pool is nice - deep, pretty large - and lots of lounge chairs set around it. We figured out, as you will, that much of it is in shade in the late afternoon, so you may want to snag seats on the sunny end of the pool! There are laundry facilities on site, and a lot of books in the office, if you run out of things to read. There is plenty of parking, some of it in a covered garage. There is no view from this unit, but it is across the street from the ocean, and I would rather pay less for accomodations without a view, to be able to stay longer on the island. This was our first visit to Kauai, but not our last, and I would definitely stay again at the Prince Kuhio. (Note: I give a high rating to the sleep quality, because the room was comfortable, but you should be aware of the early birds - roosters and others - who start their calling very early in the morning!).

“Prince Kuhio - Unit 332”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

My husband and I stayed at Prince Kuhio in unit 332 at the beginning of December for two weeks. Unit 332 is a nice, well stocked condo with a comfortable bed. It's on the third floor and has a great view of the pool and courtyard. We love the location in Poipu. The condo is right across the street from a great snorkelling spot and a couple blocks from Kukui'ula shopping village (3-5 minute walk). If you want to stay in Poipu, PK condos are wonderful and affordable.

We have no complaints about our stay. The only reason I gave the condo an average rating is simply because the accomodation is very average, it's nothing flashy but don't let that scare you because it has everything you need. We would rent this unit again.

This is our 3rd visit to Kauai and we have stayed at PK each time, but always in a different unit due to availability. Each unit is different and some are newer inside and some are older and I would say this one is somewhere in the middle. Not brand new, but still decent. A couple of minor housekeeping issues to mention about the unit and complex - the unit could use a new bed spread because the one they have is getting a bit old and tired looking. The BBQs in the complex need some minor repairs and maintenance. Both BBQs work, but one seems to work a lot better than the other.

Room Tip: We've found the 2nd and 3rd floor studio units feel a bit more private than the 1st floor studio...

“Prince Kuhio "Seaview", #337”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

My husband and I spent 15 wonderful nights in the Prince Kuhio Seaview Studio, #337. We had stayed at the Prince Kuhio Condos numerous times before and were always very pleased with the amenities, location and value of the complex. What’s not to like….the complex is located across the street from the beach, the Beach House restaurant and other restaurants and shopping all within walking distance! The Seaview #337 is now our favorite! The unit has been recently remodeled, is very clean, well equipped and attractively appointed in an island and Asian motif, with attention to the very last detail. The ocean view from the lanai is great and since the studio is an end unit, located on the top floor at the Makai end of the building, we did not hear any road noise and enjoyed the trade winds cooling breeze. Our hosts were both very accommodating and very responsive to our emails and voice messages. You couldn't find a better host/owner on the island to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. We can’t wait for a return visit!

“Prince Kuhio #402”

A perfect place to stay on the south shore of Kauai....Prince Kuhio #402 (The Penthouse)! The unit has everything; surfing, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and an excellent kitchen for cooking, including views of the sunsets, ocean, and moutains, what a perfect place to stay!!

We were there in September and the four of us trully enjoyed this space as it was private and quiet and had the best views, the plus was that it was so close to everything.

One minute walking distance to the pool, beach for snorkeling, surfing and the beach house for some awesome pupu's and cocktails and only 5 minutes from the famous Poipu beach...perfect beach if you have children.

We simply can't say enough about the penthouse, it made for the perfect home base for an awesome vacation. Highly recommend this unit.

We are planning a return trip in the near future and we will be staying at this penthouse again!

We appreciated everything about the Penthouse...until next time...Mahalo!

Room Tip: Location is everything...and the south side was the best, why settle for a room when you can have a...
