My husband and I stayed here through our timeshare company RCI. We stayed December 10th-17th of 2011. The location is amazing, and snorkeling right in front of the hotel is awesome. Lots of fish, and my husband saw sea turtles twice. If you want to relax and sunbathe this is nothe beach for it, as there is not much sand and is usually crowded. But easy entry for snorkeling and great underwater sights.
We stayed in the building in the middle of the 3. It had a huge lanai and looked right over the ocean. All of the rooms are undergoing renovations. I beleive most are getting new flooring. Ours did not, but they did deliver brand new furniture the last night we were there. It has a washer and dryer, FULL (including stove and oven) kitchen stocked with EVERYTHING you need. Even a blender for mixed drinks and a toaster for breakfast. besides the fact that the location is impossible to beat, and so are the views, the place REALLy needs a face lift (which it seems they are doing) Our bathroom was old, and scummy.made me feel uncomfortable. I felt like I was in an old apartment complex. The carpet was ugly and needed to be replaced. So bathrooms and carpet are a thumbs down. The kitchen was clean and up to date enough.
As far as the resort itself, it doesnt have too much fancy stuff to offer. But we werent there most of the time anyways. There is no place to eat there, or order a nice cold drink for on the beach or next to the pool. The Beach House restaraunt is literally in the parking lot, but is for lunches and sit down dinners.
The people are friendly and like I said its a nice place, just needs some updating. and some cleaning. If you do go to Kauai and stay on the south shore, eat at Roy's in the smaller and older shopping mall right down the road. It's on poipu road. It is a great place for a romantic dinner and its worth money!
