We read the reviews before booking without all being great, but thought to give it a try.
Property is beautiful and very well maintained. The grounds crew clearly take pride in how the property looks. They also have a huge amount of beach in relation to the number of people who are on the property. You will walk just a few steps to for example to the Marriott Resort which felt very crowded when we walked through and it has a very small, rocky beach in comparison.
I still haven't looked it up but will after the review because I would guess it was built in the late 70's early 80's and our unit had only new counters and maybe paint in 30 years. The carpets were very dirty and needed to be replaced which took away from the unit as overall it was a great location, beautiful views, and rough but not horrible, but the carpets made it look terrible.
There is no air conditioning which is fine as the rooms are ocean breeze cooled, but at night you are subject to the moaning of the islands stray cats and we had a baby near us that screamed at the top of its lungs at midnight and 6 am and the parents didn't seem to care as it went on for 60 to 90 minutes until we finally complained. The staff did take care of it as the nights after that were quiet.
I think it is a great value but I would grill the people I am booking with on location and when the unit was updated last as you pay for location, and but you don't pay more for a nicer interior, so let someone else get the outdated units.
