We just returned from our stay at Garden Isle Oceanfront Cottages for our anniversary in November. Everything was simply perfect for us. The location is slightly removed from the resort area, but close enough to be convenient to all of the restaurants and beaches. The view was great - overlooking a beautiful stream, ocean inlet with sea turtles, and whaler's cove. We could easily walk to the Baby beach, though more often we drove to Poipu Beach since it was larger, had better snorkeling, and had life guards. This is a great location for a stay on Kaua'i. It is quiet, yet central enough that you can get anywhere on the island in a reasonable amount of time. The unit was clean, had all the basic kitchen necessities, had a cabinet full of travel info and paperback books, and the property manager was friendly and helpful. We never actually slept in the bedroom - there is a daybed type couch in the living room, and we slept on it where we could be woken by the sun coming up every morning and the sound of the ocean was clearer. The bedroom had an A/C unit, but we never turned it on. I would not suggest this place to someone who is looking to stay at a resort or fancy hotel - it is more like staying in a friend's home, and we felt like we were coming home every evening. So if you are looking for somewhere quiet, laid back, and in a great location to explore Kauai, then this is a great place for you!

It has been several years since I've stayed at Garden Isle Cottages in Poipu, and I've stayed there 3 different times. The place feels like I imaagine old Hawaii to be, charming, casual, artistic. Lovely setting. This is my favorite place ever in Hawaii, but then I've never been one for grand hotels. My husband and I visited some friends who were staying in one, at Poipu, and it's so removed from the natural world you wonder why someone would even come so far as it was no different from Miami Beach. It was luxurious, but it wasn't Hawaii even with the potted palms.
If you want to experience a taste of authentic Hawaii, I highly recommend Garden Isle. So sweet!

Convenient location on a quite street surrounded by lush vegetation. Overlooking a small cove where in the morning local fishermen fish and the evening sea turtles come to hang out. The bedroom was a bit too hot to sleep in (no central AC), but the daybed in the livingroom area was great with the ocean breeze cooling us off nicely and allowing us to be woken by the most amazing sunrise. I loved these cottages! They had a comfortable homey atmosphere, with an amazing view and a new, exciting feel. They were also very clean and enjoyable. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and will definately go back! The cliffs were beyond beautiful and the water and little inlet cove area was perfect for snorkling! We saw many different types of fish and snorkled with many sea turtles!! It was amazing!
