We stayed in an oceanfront 1 bdrm/2 bath condo at KBV and absolutely loved it! It's truly a million dollar view. We stayed on the ground floor which was great to just walk out and head down to the beach. The unit was just like being at home and had everything we could want or need. The grounds around the KBV are beautifully maintained, and the beach and setting is truly spectacular. I would definately recommend getting an oceanfront unit if you can. We were whale watching on the beach one morning and saw about 40 - 50 dolphins swimming around in one spot and hadn't heard of this before, so we asked someone who worked there - he said the dolphins were there to protect the whales while they were giving birth. Wow what a blessed moment we'll never forget! We were also able to use the facilities at the Kauai Beach Resort which was great, they have great pools, restaurants, a poolside bar, and shopping within the hotel.

We've stayed at the Kauai Beach Resort and the Wapouli Beach Resort during previous trips, both are beautiful resorts no doubt, but very expensive. I would definately stay at the Kauai Beach Villas again next time, it's equally beautiful, significantly more affordable, and feels like your own little vacation home.

We stayed at the Kauai Beach Villas for a week at the end of January. We were in a one bedroom, one bath unit that we exhanged through our RCI membership. We were on the 3rd floor in builing F. (We were unit F6). The views were of the parking lot/fountain but you could also see into the mountains as well. There were no ocean views from our unit but it's such a short walk away this did not bother us at all. The until was very nice and comfortable for my husband and I and our 1 year old. With a baby having a kitchen/washer dryer is a must!! :) We had a large balcony and the resort loaned us a pack n play for the baby to sleep in and it was in good condition. We enjoyed walking out to see the sunrise on the beach every morning and saw multiple whales from the beach there. We liked the use of the pool at the resort next door. It had a great zero entry sand pool which was great for our little one. The pool bar at the resort next door also had decent drinks/food. I enjoyed the close proximity of the resort to the airport, stores and how easy it was to go north or south. I also enjoyed how quiet and uncrowded the beach was! (Of course you can't swim in the beach here but there are so many other close beaches that it was not a problem for us).

The only negative is that the staff tries a little too hard to get you to attend all the timeshare presentaions. They continually called and woke our baby up from naps and even called after 8pm at night. I explained to them several times that we had a sleeping baby but they kept calling so I finally just unplugged the phone.

We also visited the Bali Hai Villas in Princeville and did not like them as well. However, I assume everyone has a personal preference.

What a wonderful relaxing family vacation. The island of Kauai is beautiful and we cannot wait to go back!

We enjoyed our stay at the Beach Villas in a 1 BR. We also had a week at Bali Hai in Princeville in a 3 BR Presidential, to compare it with. The Villas are much more convenient to see the sights of the island. The unit had been refurbished & was equipped very generously. The staff were most helpful in recommending things to do. We had a very nice 2nd floor corner unit in the F bldg with big deck. looking out over the fountains and parking lot, landscaping was good & we could see a slice of ocean in a couple of places. They supplies nice Thermos coolers for our travels & had a locker with misc chairs & beach equipment that could be used-honor system. Enjoyed being able to use the resort next door. The Tiki bar at the pool with ocean view & happy hour. Went to the show South Pacific there also. Great show, food not bad for a buffet. If you can only stay in one place the Villas get my vote

Stayed at Wyndham Kauai Beach Villas for the first week on January 2012. We had an upper 1 bedroom unit (in the A unit) and other than the location of the bedroom air conditioner (blows directly on one side of the bed) the unit was very nice. Kitchen has everything including a started ground coffee in case you arrive late. Villas have one small pool and hot tub, 3 nice gas grills and plenty of space to eat, lounge, etc. Adjacent to the property is a hotel with a reasonable restaurant and you are allowed to use their pool and hot tub. The conceriege was very helpful in obtaining directions, things to do, etc. They can also book a car rental which is most likely less than you can for yourself.
The biggest downside to our stay was not getting a ocean front villa which likely would have made all the difference (upper room would be best). The ocean front villas are buildings F, G and H although half of the units face the lagoon and parking area.
