“Excellent price for this hotel”

We stayed at this hotel and it was amazing. It was very comfortable, the staff was very nice, they had a computer to use in the lobby for free and the room came with complimentary breakfast in the morning. It is a little away from everything, but Kauai is so small it is worth staying here and just renting a car. I would definitely stay here again!

“Wonderful Manager!”

Kauai Palms was a last minute change for our vacation. They were at an excellent price and had very courteous service. The chickens are a bit much, but that's the island! Corina, the manger was very helpful and patient with our many questions of the public transit and how to get around town. She sat down with us and went over all the schedules. Gave us great advice about the Kalalau trail. She told us to call anytime during our visit and she would help us out. It was a great first step to our vacation.

“Too noisy!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I did not like staying at the Kauai Palms. The main reason was that it was incredibly noisy. There’s a screen window on the door that can’t be closed so you hear everything. Whenever someone is leaving, talking outside or at the reception, crowing roosters at 4 a.m. or all day, ringing phones in the lobby or cars pulling in, you hear it all! It seemed that these people were in the room with me talking. One night at 1:30 a.m. there was a woman having a loud conversation I suppose on the phone by my room. She woke me up and I was going to tell her to take her conversation inside, but another guest got to her before I did. There’s nothing that this motel could do to prevent the noise because of how it's built. What made my stay worse was when I was checking out, the woman at the front desk was rude and cold towards me. I told her that I was checking out, and she quickly said "OK." I stuck around for another few seconds, expecting her to say thank you or anything else, but she just said "OK" with the sound that I'm finished with you. I suppose she was bothered because I stopped her from doing her paperwork. I'm glad I didn't spend much time in my room, but even the small time that I did it wasn't worth it because of the extreme noise and rude front desk person (she wore glasses). I’ll never stay there again and next time will just spend more money. In the end you do get what you paid for.

Aloha,
We certainly do apologize for your experiences and would have been glad to have been able to respond to all of the noise and guest service issues you had experienced. Our front desk office is open from 7am to 9pm and we also have our resident on-site supervisor available from 9pm to 7am, handling any concerns or issues after-hours to assure our guests’ safety and comfort.

In regards to the loud guests and the hotel structural issues, our on-site manager would have handled your concerns right away if he had been contacted. Our confirmation letter contains all of the emergency information and contact information before your arrival. Upon arrival, our reception desk staff again reminds our guests to please contact the on-site night manager after-hours if needed.

We have in recent months worked diligently on keeping our property noise-free after-hours by strictly implementing our hotel policy concerning noise issues by controlling the problems immediately. In regards to the roosters crowing in the early morning hours, it has been an on-going challenge on Kaua’i since 1992, when the hurricane devastated the islands and destroyed the chicken farms, setting them free. Today, they are protected and are thriving island wide.

We do offer the highest quality guest services and are sincerely enthusiastic each day in sharing our Aloha with our international, mainland and outer island guests. We do humbly apologize for any rudeness you may have experienced. Our hotel staff is very proud of the daily compliments we receive from our guests and, also, our recent past guests who share their positive overall experience on TripAdvisor Guest Reviews regarding out hotel's clean, comfortable accommodations and quality guest services received.

“BRUCE WILLIS LOVES IT!”

I showed up, looking like Tom Sawyer - after spending some time in Kalalau. The staff helped me in a million ways, with retrieving my valuables from North Shore, to directing me on where to go for jobs, etc. Corrina was like Wonder Woman - going above the call of duty to help out. The rooms are great, very nice! And it is close enough to the airport to walk here, easy 15 minute walk. Its beautifully located near restaurants, parks, and the Salvation Army - if you need some local goods. Bruce Willis is actually hanging out right now under the porch, watching the rain fall.

Room Tip: If you want to buy food from the local stores and cook it, be sure to ask for a kitchen unit in your...

“So totally awesome!”

We finally got to our hotel after a bunch of confusion on our flights - we were late - they were ok with it. The room was comfortable, quiet, clean - we loved it and are recommending it to everyone we know! All three of us thought it was great - Grandma at 69, mom at 48 and son at 15! The hotel personell were wonderful - giving us hints for food and where to visit as it was the first time to the island. Will definitely be staying there again!

Room Tip: ours was facing the fields and was super quiet.
