I was a little hesitant about the pace of play after reading some reviews, but it all turned out to be for not. Note: I played on a Tuesday morning, weekends might be a little more crowded. This course is awesome (for a Muni course). Don't expect the grounds to be kept like a PGA style course, it's a Muni course - but the greens were in great shape, fairways weren't bad either. This little gem is wonderful. The staff are very laid back and friendly, but not overly friendly. I was a single and they set me up with a local twosome (great guys), and another visitor (from Portland). The pace of play was a little slow at first, being there was a large back up at the first tee. But this allowed you to warm up, relax, and get to know the others in your group. After the 3rd hole, there was no pace problem at all for the rest of the round, everything spread out nicely - the group in front of us seemed to exit the green just as we were to hit our approach shots, and the group following never seemed to have to wait for us.
I needed to rent clubs. The set I rented worked fine, the grips were just sticky enough and the clubs were in very good shape for the price, about $38. The gentleman helping me with the rentals was very accomodating and personable. I'll go back in a heartbeat and will recommend this course to anyone.
