“Well-appointed”

In booking a villa at Kolea, I only had pictures and online reviews to go on. However, this information did not do justice to the resort. The grounds were beautiful and immaculate, while the villa itself was modern, spacious and comfortable. We rented 9K, which with three bedrooms, was the perfect amount of space for three adults interested in relaxing, handling business remotely (note: the WIFI was a huge help) and socializing. Much of our time was spent at the pool, which had great furniture and amenities (e.g., towels, water, etc.) as well as friendly staff and other vacationers. We also appreciated that Kolea is in walking distance of several good restaurants and shops. As a final note, it was great working with Rob Dalton, who was professional, timely and willing to provide any requested information.

As a result of this stay, I am already planning my return visit to Kolea this year.

“kolea 1f”

Our hawaii trip started as 2 couples and soon grew to 3 couples. So an upgrade of lodging was required. We wanted 3 bedrooms all with queen size or better beds 3 bathrooms and a large lanai for socializing at nite. Kolea 1f met these requirements. 2 kingsize beds 1 queen 3 1/2 baths. Our dealings with Rob Dalton prior to leaving were were insightful and professional, a vacation package was mail to us. As we left on our trip we all felt certain we had made a good choice, there is nothing worse than arriving at your home away from home only to be disappointed. There was absolutely no disappointment, as the 6 of us entered the condo we were all speachless. it not only met our needs but exceded all expectations. The condo was first class, the sliding doors between the kitchen and lanai opened up and was our evening and morning gathering spot. The lanai with sofa, chairs coffee and end table, table 6 chairs stainless barbque, wet bar, fridge and storage were wonderful. As meal preparation and cooking was done inside and outside no-one was ever left out.
The resort itself includes a hot tub and pool as well as a kids pool that was a waterfall and total sand beach and bottom. And just a short walk to the beach.
The resort is landscaped beyond belief, shopping just a 2 min walk away. The Marriott hotel is right next door and we enjoyed their luau. Unit 1f also has a golf membership, so discount fees are available.
The entire Waikola Beach Resort is fabulous, but Kolea is the crown jewel. Unit 1f is apparently one of the only with 3 large beds and baths. This was our first trip to Hawaii but not our last. We definitely will stay at Kolea again.
A big thank-you to Rob Dalton, We will return !!

“Perfect location”

This resort is top notch. Everything is well maintained and the unit we stayed in was exactly as pictured. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately to our complete satisfaction. Not only is the pool and beach just steps away, but also shopping, dining, golfing and grocery. The huge outdoor decks with outdoor kitchen are wonderful. I would stay here again and again!

Room Tip: If you have small kids, choose a ground floor unit so they can run right out onto the grass.

“Penthouse Wedding Getaway Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Stayed here with my partner and 2 other couples... when we first drove into the driveway and saw the ceiling fan we weren't really sure what we were getting ourselves into until we walked into the elevator... opened up to this beautiful high ceilings, beautifully furnished, patio overlooking the grounds/ beach/ area... breathtaking!! It had a luxurious feel to it especially the marble floor and the huge bedrooms and bathrooms. It had everything we needed. Had BBQs on the patio during the day/ evening and the fresh tropical air felt perfect especially the way the place was set up! During the day, we took advantage of the pool + outdoor fitness facility.. steps away from the clubhouse pool was the beach and it was beautiful at night especially with the moon!! This place was truly paradise!!

“Kolea is tops in Waikoloa Beach!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Stayed for 11 nights October/November 2011. Great location. Great condo. Quiet. Pool isn't large but it is adequate for off-season. It is probably way overcrowded during Christmas/holidays. View of A-bay from the pool/hottub/clubhouse area is wonderful. Great sunsets. A-bay is good for lounging on Marriott beach chairs but that's about it unless you are a kitesurfer or paddleboarder. Also, snorkeling is not as clear as other areas. You'll want to drive to Hapuna/69/Mauna Kea beaches for best beach experience. We haven't stayed in the Halii Kai, the other high end complex in WB, but have stayed in WB Villas a couple of times. Kolea is best! And we will stay here again....at the right price.

Room Tip: Center units may have view blocked by buildings.
