“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Wonderful private cottage! We normally aren't bed and breakfast people but this one is an exception. They thought of almost everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We couldn't believe how stocked the kitchen was. It included: bananas, papaya, apples, oranges, grapefruit, many different teas and coffees, hot chocolate mix, apple cider mix, orange juice, guava juice, half & half, 2% milk, diet Coke, bottled water, french vanilla creamer, microwave popcorn, hawaiian sausage, turkey sausage, pork breakfast sausage, veggie dogs, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, bread, bagels, butter, syrup, honey, jelly, cream cheese. And on top of that, they bring you a daily 'treat' plate. Ours was banana bread, pumpkin bread, and lemon bundt cake. The bed was very comfortable. Just the right amount of linens. The bathroom is large. We also enjoyed the television and the large number of channels available. There's a private outside hot tub and beautiful grounds to explore. They have 'hidden' tea cups and tea pots around the grounds. They were fun to spot. They have brochures of attractions and even menus of nearby restaurants. Great place to stay. Highly recommend it.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

A two bedroom cottage that is only let to a max of two people, about 10-15 min drive from the entrance to Volcano National Park.

The kitchen is stocked (and restocked every day) with more breakfast than two people could possibly eat including fresh, home baked cakes! 1001 varieties of tea and coffee. The interior is spotless and loaded with lots of quirky decoration and other nik-naks. The grounds are extensive and yours to enjoy.

Very peaceful, comfortable and masses of space for just 2 people a perfect antidote to the impersonal large chain hotel.

I have to give special mention to the service – from the pack of maps, leaflets and other info we received 3-4 weeks before arrival, guidance on what to see and how, to where and what to eat. Incredible!

Like: service, Volcano Park. Dislike: ate too much.

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights In January 2012--what a beautiful and amazing place!! It is spacious, spotless, serene and superbly supplied. The grounds are beautiful and the owner (who lives nearby) is extremely helpful in planning trips. The kitchen is fully equipped and the refrigerator stocked with a large variety of bereakfast items, to say nothing of the freshly-baked cakes that awaited us. There is a wonderful outdoor jacuzzi and the location is idyllic. If you are honeymooning there, it is a dream. If, like us, it is many years post-honeymoon, this lovely romantic place peels back the years and gives you a second honeymoon spirit. I would give it 11 out of 10!!!

“They Thought of Everything!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We stayed at Teapot and were blown away with the experience. They thought of absolutely everything, and achieved their goal of presenting a perfect getaway. The owners were personable, welcoming and friendly. There is no way that you could be disappointed in Teapot.

“Fantastic Teapot!”

We had wanted to stay near the volcanoes national park, but not in Hilo or in a big chain hotel. When we saw the Teapot cottage we booked it straight away. It is a beautiful wooden victorian style cottage. The interior is painted wooden walls and floorboards and is cosy and a little chintzy. The owner Bill, came to help us settle in and offer advice on what to do locally icluding attractions and places to eat etc. The cottage is incredibly well appointed with Flat screen TV and dvd player an Ipod dock/cd player a full washer and dryer and in the kitchen a full cooker/fridge freezer and microwave. Bill keeps the kitchen fully stocked for breakfast and a huge choice of teas and coffees. The baked cakes and bagels were a treat each morning. The other featues are the beautifully landscaped serene gardens which are home to pheasants(Be careful with shiny sandals, ours were borrowed and pecked at) and the fantastic hot tub and gazebo area. This was a pefect way to relax at the end of a long day of sightseeing and lava viewing. Very close to the park and volcano village and extremely well looked after, we'd recommend this quaint little cottage for a relaxing getaway on big island.

Room Tip: self contained cottage. 2 bedrooms, one with four poster, one with twin beds.
