My wife and I stayed at Hale Nui in April 2003. We stayed in two different rooms due to availability around the Merrie Monarch Festival. The rooms were spectacular, affordable and unbelievably clean. The breakfast each day included pancakes or waffles, fresh fruits and breads. The hosts were gracious however they mentioned they were selling and moving back to the mainland. I hope whoever purchased the property continues to run this great B and B in their tradition. Hale Nui is also located about as close to Volcano National Park as you can get without staying in the park.
