We stayed in the studio unit. This property has several individual units. The studio is the smallest and it has a washing machine, no dryer. The unit has no a/c so you must leave the windows open at night. The roosters in the neighborhood will wake anybody up. The website states there are fruits on the property to pick but not so when we were there in July. We brought our own mosquito net because this is the rainy side of the island and thank goodness we did. The floor was dusty when we arrived. The bathroom and kitchen were clean. There is no stove but a burner was available on the counter. The bed was perhaps the most troublesome. It was old and has stains on it (yuck!). It is not near any convenience store or market since the property is in the middle nowhere. You have to drive 15 minutes out to Kea`au for food and supplies.
However, this place is centrally located near Volcano National Park, Hilo, and new Kaimu black sand beach (this beach is a secret to most visitors). For $50 a night so not all was lost. Next time, I think i'll just stay in Hilo.
