“A little too off the beaten track”

This is a guesthouse outside the sleepy town of Honokaa. The positives: lots of privacy, pretty setting, you can pick macadamia nuts and coffee beans on the premises, large size of guesthouse (2 bedroom, 2 bath), nice bathtub jacuzzi (fits two very comfortably), lots of wildlife around.
The negatives: We had to drive at least 40 minutes anytime we wanted to go out to dinner (we couldn't find any restaurants that we wanted to go to in Honokaa), or really to go anywhere, the towels smelled very musty, the old linens and beds could use an upgrade.
We recommend going to the Waipio Valley, which is relatively close.

What a treat it was to have found this perfect place to call home while staying on the Big Island. We really lucked out that it was available for our family.

We enjoyed the many details that were paid attention to. The amenities such as the home made soaps from the farm and the coffee provided was from the trees suurounding the guest house. We gathered macadamia nuts and cracked them in the cracker provided.

The huge whirlpool tub was heaven to soak in. They even had a dish for tv reception although there was little time to watch TV as there is so much to see and do from here!

The kahilu ginger began blossoming while we were there and the scent as it drifted in through the window and combined with the relaxing sounds from the frog fountain made it a tropical PARADISE.

Perfect place to unwind, listen to the birds sing and really relax. All the comforts of Home and more. Many thoughtful amenities. I expecially liked the home made soaps.
