We spend the first 3 nights of our Hawaii trip at this B&B and it was a great way to start. There are 2 units located at opposite ends of the house, so our room was private and quiet (except for the occasional squealing of the wild pigs at night). From 1000 feet up in the Kona hills, we enjoyed the view of the Kona coast. It is located about 15-20 mins from the airport, to the Kona Village and to the Costco so you aren't too far from anything.
The owner, Lonn, really made us feel welcome. He prepared lavish breakfasts at a time convenient to us. The items varied each day. For example, fresh papaya and thick french toast with pecans and real maple syrup. We truly enjoyed the house coffee made with beans grown behind his house!
Lonn was very helpful, lending us boogie boards to head to the beach, giving us advice about restaurants and activities. He's a character, but in the best sense of the word.
Tip: Buy Lonn Amour's coffee and have him ship it home for you. The 1 lb bags ($20) make great gifts and Lonn packed and shipped quickly so the coffee was waiting for us when we got home. Thanks Lonn!
