Lizards and multiple bugs found in room every night. Staff response when we brought this to their attention was "yes we have those all over the building." They made no offer to clean the room, remove the pests, or move us to another room. Parking is difficult every night as the lot fills up quickly. No bananas available despite what they claim on their web site. No a/c but fans kept the room cool enough. Overall we just couldn't feel comfortable in our room and were quite disappointed with the experience.

We love this hotel. Charming rooms, wonderful staff, great fresh fruit and coffee in the mornings, AND, beautiful gardens. The neighborhood is a little off the beaten path, but convenient.

This comfortable, small hotel is just a short walk from many restaurants and other interesting destinations in downtown Hilo. The small kitchenette will be appreciated if you visit the excellent farmers market, just a short wallk away. Don't miss the beautiful tropical garden behind the hotel. When available, you can even pick your own starfruit from trees overhanging the parking lot. The self-serve continental breakfast in the lobby is a must do.

Stayed for a week. Having kitchenette very useful, Fruit, hot drinks, muffins free every morning. Inexpensive laundry. Staff extremely helpful. Good location. Highly recommend.
