The Snake River Lodge was a wonderful experience. The staff were very cheerful and helpful, without being obsequious. Our bellboy stopped at the Ski Valet on the way in and dropped my skis while we went to our room. Couldn't have been easier for us.
Our room was lovely, spacious and clean, with a nice view out the back side, looking down on the valley and a barn with horses. Lots of wood and stone decor in the room. Very peaceful and very pretty.
The lodge itself is well appointed, cozy and well kept. We spent time in the lobby by the fire, enjoying happy hour (half-price drinks) and then the next morning, the free Starbucks coffee. The decor is beautiful mountain rustic with huge peeled logs and wooden bear carvings peeking out everywhere. Very cool! The Concierge was eager to help us with our transportation arrangements, and when a light bulb burned out in our room, they sent someone up to fix it while we were in the Gamefish Restaurant. Great service.
The food in the restaurant was excellent. We especially enjoyed the buffet in the morning. The best bacon I have ever eaten! The Pork Chop for dinner was top notch too. My wife loved the coffee.
The Ski Valet and Spa were both very special, with an attention to detail that made our stay effortless and fun. The Spa area is beautiful, with rocks and waterfalls that add to the peaceful ambiance. My wife raved about how great the massage was.
The Ski Valet made it so easy to come and go; the young man even dried my skis as I rushed to get out the door for my flight after a morning of hitting the steep powder chutes.
The resort is ski-in, with an easy trail down to the ski valet. In the morning the valet put our skis outside in the rack and we walked a short distance up to the gondola; very simple. They kept our ski boots on boot warmers overnight, so it was a breeze to walk down from our room in the morning in street shoes, gear up for the day of skiing, and walk out the door to the lifts. And the best lift, the Gondola, is the nearest to the hotel. The Tram is only 25 yards further.
Overall this resort is a 5 out of 5 points. One of the best locations on the mountain, in the center of everything, with a very short walk to the Mangy Moose, and other restaurants and shops.. I will definitely return.
