Let's face it, pet owners -- good digs are hard to come by when traveling with the beasties. Carol and Addie, the proprietors, are friendly, accommodating, and attentive while still managing to respect your privacy. We booked the "Couple's Getaway Weekend" for a Valentine's Day vacation and had a great experience at the Hood House. They cook a mean breakfast -- simple, straightforward and delicious. The house is well-appointed and the rooms are clean. Our room was a bit on the small side and I would have liked more closet space or furniture in which to store luggage/bags. A larger room was available, but they have a policy that two unrelated couples stay on opposite sides of the house, so the privacy made up for the smallish room. We enjoyed our massages and trips to the Hobo Hot Springs (public access), which are located about 1/2 mile from the Hood House. Be warned though, as of February 2011, they are remodeling the changing rooms at the Hobo Springs and adding a new pool. The lack of changing rooms requires some creativity regarding how to change out of a wet suit in frigid temperatures. That being said, we enjoyed our trip and will be returning to Saratoga and the Hood House.

Little known fact: There's a variety of good places to eat for such a small town. Don't be afraid to explore. The Wolf Hotel makes a great burger.

Recommendation: This would be an awesome value for a family or group of friends looking to get together for the weekend for some fun and relaxation. Consider renting the whole house. Carol and Addie are happy for you to use the kitchen and having the run of the comfy house would be an enjoyable and affordable vacation.

My wife and i like to get away to the snowy mountains west of laramie, Wyoming. We found this nice, cozy, clean, friendly B and B in Saratoga, Wyoming about 70 miles west of Laramie on trip advisor. We only had 1 night as we had to get back to work. My wife called and made the reservation, they have 4 rooms with shared baths, fortunately we were the only one's there so did not have to share a bath, great !!!

Carol said you have the place to yourself, the older victorian house is very nice and the bedroom is great, period furnishings with modern updates. The bath is a claw foot tub, with a shower curtain for a shower. Each room has an air conditioner that you can control, not needed after the temperature cools off.

We had the place to ourself, just like staying at grandma's house in the 50's, nice sitting room with plenty of book's to read and a bice flat screen TV with dish service, internet in your room and everything you could want for a nice nights stay.

Carol and her daughter Adelaide came over and made a great breakfast for us at 8:00 as we requisted, fresh fruit, juice hot gormet coffee, eggs our way and toast or french toast, we were full and ready for the day.

We highly recommend this B and B for your stay, nice for family get together's or a night's stay when passing through. There is a lot to do in this small town, fishing, hot springs, day trips, hunting and sight seeing. I am a photographer and enjoy the wildlife and landscape opp's in the snowy mountains.

The Hood House is a very clean and comfortable house in a quiet area. We rented out the whole house which was perfect for our extended family. The breakfast was beautiful and the owners are very friendly. I even managed to leave behind some clothes and a bottle which Carol posted back to me. Greatly appreciated! Highly recommended.

Our family stayed at the Hood House in December for a holiday getaway. It was so enjoyable! While the younger adults had fun outside sledding, it was warm and cozy inside. It's a very clean, quiet, quaint place to stay. We had use of the whole house. We hope to be able to visit the area in the spring, and will definitely stay at the Hood House again! Oh, and the hot springs are worth a visit, so bring your bathing suit!
