We stayed at Hood House in July 2011. I would definitely stay at Hood House again. It was quaint, charming, and cozy! I loved the novelty of staying in a historic property off the beaten path, and I appreciated that the proprietors created a perfect balance of historic charm and modern convenience. I enjoyed browsing the book nook, learning about the history of the area, and visiting with the other guests. Breakfast was cooked-to-order, and it was fabulous! We especially enjoyed the toast made from fresh homemade bread. My only complaint was, when we arrived (after dark), the house was completely dark, and we had a very difficult time locating the light switches or the phone to call the proprietors. It was actually quite spooky, but for some strange reason it added to the charm (and it gave us something to laugh about later!), so I won't hold against them in my overall review of my stay. I did suggest they make accomodations for late-night arrivals, and they seemed very appreciative of the feedback.
