“Worst Hotel Ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Stay away from this place .... stay in your car if you have to vs. staying here. I should have known the rooms would be terrible, when at the checkin desk taped to the counter it said NO REFUNDS!!!, that should have been my first hint. I tried to get a refund but was told absolutely not since it was past the time to cancel my reservation.

The room stunk, the bathroom was filthy, I was just hoping there wasn't any bedbugs.

It is suppose to be pet friendly, however there is NO grass for your pet to relieve themselves, there was some gravel around the area, but it had lots of broken glass.

Bottom Line, stay away from this place .... it is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Don't Stay in any of the rooms ... run far away!!!!

“Worst motel I've EVER stayed in!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

If I’d known we’d be staying in Rawlins, I’d have read the reviews and known to stay away from the place. 1)Unfriendly staff at check-in, I should have run at that point, but we were VERY tired from a long days driving. Manager checked us in acting like he was doing us a favor. 2)WIFI wouldn’t connect; I went to office to see if they had a problem, but couldn’t understand his excuse (English lessons, PLEASE!). He finally pointed to his room chart saying “very busy”. Only half the rooms were filled - don’t advertise WIFI if it can’t handle even half your guests. 3) Toilet paper roll completely empty. There was a spare roll there, but I had to actually tear half of it apart before finding a place to start it. 4) Shower sprayed more on the floor than on my body. This wet down all the TP that I had to tear off the roll, so there was a real mess! 5) Mold on floor under sink, and other spots in room showing no care . 7) heater only sent out cold air, and I about froze! 7) Continental Breakfast? Somehow I don’t think 2 kinds of dry cereal and a loaf of bread qualify. The health department should close this place down. If you read my motel reviews in TA you'll know I have never voted a motel this low before. I'd sleep in my car before staying here again.

Room Tip: NO good rooms

“do not stay here”

the man with broken English said he had free internet, after checking in and finding out there was no internet, he summoned his manager, who told me it would be fixed tomorrow, which meant nothing to me because we were leaving in the morning. the room smelled like barf and the lobby smelled like Bangladesh. ECONO CORPORATE if you are listening, you need to make sure your 3rd world motel staff know how to speak english, it is highly offensive to me to travel a cross America, the land I love and after a hard days ride, have to deal with your non-english speaking personnel. its corporations like Econolodge and there politically correct executives that are ruining America

Room Tip: the beds felt and smelled dirty

“If they shut down I-80 to Cheyenne and you need a cheap place to stay.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 March 2011

I-80 was shut down on our cross country trip to GA and we needed a place to stay the night to wait for it to open. So we chose this because the price was cheap, but not too cheap. Starting at the front desk, the man spoke broken English but was useful enough to pay and give me a working room key so no complaints there. Next the room, I have to say I think it was pretty nice for an overnight stay of $50.00. Military discount! Moving on the beds were free of bugs, pillows clean and sheets warm. The cable and wifi worked fine. iTunes struggles a bit but w/e. Lol The heater works good and the door locks well. Breakfast combined with fast check in/'check out and not too many questions asked worked for me. I would it stay here with my kids but for me. It was fine.

“Heed this warning: STEER CLEAR! Shabby and creepy.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2010

This hotel is run down. The parkling lot is poorly plowed. The desk clerk's foreign accent was practically unintelligible. Before I checked in, I saw the place and got the creeps. The parking lot is poorly lit. The place looked abandoned, until I saw the office lights. The room is extremely drafty and there is snow blowing in from under the door. Yes, I have tiny snow drifts by the door crack. Well, at least there is free wi-fi so I can come on Trip Advisor and warn others! There was hair in the bathtub and the ceiling is falling down in the bathroom. The only reason I did not drive away is that I had booked reservations on Expedia, which I have had good luck with in the past. I have had other good experiences with Econo Lodge, but this one ought to be closed. The wall heating/cooling device is barely keeping up with the chill coming in from outside.
