“So much fun, so beautiful and so very friendly”

so incredibly amazing on all counts!! Not being able to ride prior to this and not being a big "horse" person i was a little apprehensive but on day 1 we were loping through the gorgeous scenery of the area and loving every minute. Vee Bar welcomed us immediately as friends and offered a truly western family welcome. With the options of fishing / relaxing / tubing / visiting local towns / riding, walking/ loping over mountains / camping out in a teepee / eating delicious food / herding cattle (absolutely incredible experience by the way) etc etc this place truly has so much to offer ... you can be as relaxed as you like or as active as you like, but it's not just all that and the gorgeous location which made the trip. Brent and Kari and the whole team of cowboys and cowgirls (and lovely little Bailey) were all a pleasure to be around and made us feel so at home. My thanks to each and every one of you who each added something different and something memorable to the trip. I hope i have the opportunity to visit again and highly recommend this trip and experience to everyone.

“Exceeded Everyone's Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

It's hard to get our family of four (mom, dad, 14 year old daughter, 20 year old son) to agree on anything, but we do agree that our week at the Vee Bar was our best vacation ever!

Cabin One was a wonderful "home" for the week with its comfortable, spacious interior and the great view from the front and the rushing river in back. We appreciated the three sleeping areas that gave everyone privacy.

Horseback riding was of course the highlight. Getting to know "our" horses all week was great - we'll miss Mason, Blackjack, Baxter, Turtle, and Coal Creek. Each day's ride was an adventure where we saw new things and we beginners became more proficient. Herding the cows on Thursday was a blast.

Food all week was wonderful, especially in the dining room but also on the overnight. (The overnight was lots of fun and my wife appreciated the option to spend the night back at the cabin rather than camping out in the teepee.)

The "extras" were lots of fun - tubing, trap shooting, and fly fishing were new experiences for us.

But what makes the Vee Bar truly outstanding are the people who create the "True Western Hospitality." We were made to feel welcome all the time. Thank you Brent, Tommy, Belinda and Dan for your friendly help on and off the trail. Thank you to everyone else at the Vee Bar for all you do to make this such a wonderful place.

I do believe we'll be back!

“A Vacation Like No Other”

My 12 year old daughter and I just finished our week at the Vee Bar Guest Ranch for the third year in a row and once again we had an amazing experience.

We were introduced to the Vee Bar and the Cole family by clients in Charlotte who had taken their daughters to the ranch the year before. My daughter and I had been looking for a safe place where we could ride horses and have a daddy/daughter experience. The Vee Bar surpassed all our expectations.

From the moment at check-in when I asked for a room key and Brent said "we don't lock our doors around here" you knew you were in a different kind of place. The Cole family has created an authentic western experience for their guests that is full of horse back riding, incredibly good food served family style, other activities like tubing the Little Laramie River, fishing, hiking and exhibitions like sheep dog herding sheep. Throw in a hay ride and cook out with Western music, working a herd of cattle on horseback to move them from one pasture to another and a camping trip and cook out at the Deerwood Ranch and you have a vacation experience you will remember for a lifetime.

The horseback riding is amazing. The Vee Bar has a great stable of horses that they are able to match up with their guests based on how much riding experience they have. From gentle horses for little kids or inexperienced riders to fast, spirited horses for folks who know how to ride, the experience is tailored to the guests (and the wranglers will break you out into smaller groups to make sure you get the riding experience you want). Our favorite ride is the climb up Verbena Hill and the long lope across the hilltop.

The wild life on the Ranch is incredible as well. This year we saw bald eagles, red tail hawks, elk calves, mule deer bucks, antelope and a bobcat!

The accommodations at the Ranch are perfect for the experience--very comfortable rooms furnished western style. We have always stayed in one of the Riverside Suites, which allows you to fall asleep listening to the Little Laramie River flow nearby. The washer/dryer makes packing for a week easier and the refrigerator helps keep snacks and drinks handy (although the honor saloon is a short walk away and is open 24 hours a day).

The food is truly excellent. The Vee Bar has a tremendous chef who has created a varied assortment of meals, all served buffet style in the Lodge. From the first dinner on Sunday night to the last breakfast on Saturday, meal time is something everyone looks forward to at the Ranch.

Finally, the Cole family makes the Vee Bar experience special. To watch three generations of a family work together to serve their guests and make the experience meaningful is something that you seldom get to see these days. My daughter remarked on the drive back to Denver that the Coles were "the nicest family she had ever seen".

“Wonderful time. Beautiful Setting!”

This is a beautiful ranch set along the picturesque banks of the Laramie River. The facilities are clean, luxurious and up to date yet have a rustic feel (true to the Old West). The staff are extremely friendly and accomadating and made us feel most welcome. The horses were excellent and were well suited to my family's varying riding abilities. The surrounding country makes for some excellent riding.

“Best Dude Ranch Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

I had the best vacation while staying at the Vee Bar Ranch in Laramie, Wyoming. The couple who ran the ranch, Brent and Kari ---, were the most friendly and accommodating people I've met in a long time. The ranch was beautiful and well maintained. The horses were healthy and obviously cared for very well. The staff were kind and always willing to make whatever effort was needed to meet our needs. During our stay there was a flood because the snow was melting too quickly from the mountains. Despite all the actions needed to deal with the flood( sandbags, bobcats, tractors) our vacation was never interrupted. If a dude ranch experience is what you're looking for, the Vee Bar Ranch is the place to go!
