The room was very small but clean and comfortable. There was an old mini-fridge (that I wouldn't have trusted with food but was good for keeping drinks cold) and an old microwave that we never used. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable and there is a lot of helpful literature on the table. The toilet didn't have much in the way of flushing power but the a/c worked great. The location was unbeatable even if the parking was limited (we had to park off of an alley that seemed slightly unsafe). Overall, the Anvil met our needs and we left feeling positive about our stay. Not recommended if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room while in Jackson Hole but great if you just need a place to sleep and shower.

My husband and I needed a couple of separate nights in Jackson, wanted to be able to walk to town....and did not want to pay a fortune for luxurious linens etc. This place is very convenient to the square and shops/restaurants. Our room was small, basic and clean. Great value

On a road trip to Yellowstone, we stopped in Jackson with no reservations. Just driving around town, we saw the Anvil and there was parking (not too much, but enough for my Yukon XL on this trip). I ran in and inquired about vacancy and they had a room! And, it was extremely reasonably priced. Although it was just at the top of the stairs (a little loud when others came up to their rooms), it was just fine. Rooms are not luxurious, but trust me...they excel over the crappy cabins offered at Yellowstone for a much higher price. Room was small, but comfortable. Yes, bathroom was tiny -- but the sink is outside the shower/toilet area, so how much room is really needed here? Towels could be softer, larger... but at least they were clean and there were plenty for the 2 of us. Had a large fridge, micro, coffeemaker and hair dryer. Had a bunch of really informative travel info on the table. Beds were comfortable with a fiber or featherbed pad and what looked like a down or faux down blanket. Everything was very clean (I'm picky). Again, not luxurious, but for the price, we'd definitely stay again. We'd definitely go back. Hopefully, we'll have as good of an experience in future stays. Jackson is a fun town and the Anvil is well-located to enjoy it.

We arrived in Jackson Hole, as usual, with no reservations and were able to secure only one night at our chosen hotel. Because we wanted a second night in town before heading south, we roamed the streets of Jackson, asking at every hotel we could find, and they all told us the same thing - No Vacancy. Finally, we approached the front desk at the Anvil and were pleased to find they had a room available.

I don't know if we got the only nice room in the place or if things have drastically changed since the other reviewers stayed here, but we were very pleased with our accomodations. The room was large, had 2 comfortable queen beds, and the place was spotless. Travel guides and literature was abundant on the desk and really helped us decide where to go and what to do. The bathroom was well-equipped and we loved the shower with it's built in spa body wash/lotion dispenser. Our towels were in great shape and plentiful and parking was no problem. All rooms lead to hanging flower basket-lined porches with white painted railings - very homey and pretty.

The only uncomfortable moment I had here was at check-out...the man behind the counter was extremely creepy, and I'm glad he wasn;t there when I was offered the room because I might have turned it down!
