“Charming and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2010

We rolled into town without a reservation anywhere, and Twin Pines was recommended by the server at a nearby restaurant. We didn't realize it was cabins until we got there, but we loved it! It was cozy, warm, super clean, and charming! There was a bed-and-breakfast style guest book on the wooden desk, which was a nice touch. There was a fake fireplace heater in the corner that kept things warm. The decor was lovely. The only downsides were the lack of fan in the shower area, which left everything in there very damp; and the orange juice at the continental breakfast had turned and was spoiled. But the rest of the breakfast was fine, and there was an espresso bar just next door with juices.

“Good Value Cozy Cabins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2010

We thought the cabin was really good value. Our cabin was cozy, clean, warm, inviting and had everything we needed. Breakfast was nice in the charming lodge. Good location for Dubois nightlife and restaurants. The only fault we had was that we had trouble getting them to respond via email when we wanted them to verify our booking.

“Good Place to Stay in a Delightful Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

We loved our little cabin and the nice folks who run this downtown gem. A satisfying breakfast is served in the lobby of the historic lodge.

We had an enjoyable and delicious dinner at The Cowboy. Dubois is a great place to spend the night.

“Lodge trading on being an historic house with cabins like garden sheds”

You are paying top dollar for staying in a small wooden hut with a minute shower room and nowhere comfortable to sit. The cabins are in the back yard of the hotel and they have little comfort. When we booked in we were greeted by a query regarding the tax on our bill but we had booked by e-mail and it was clearly stated that all tax was included in the price---not a good start. The recommendation of the Cowboy cafe across the road for dinner was a good one and we received friendly service and a good meal. About 3am a very loud alarm went off for about 20minutes but nobody from the lodge came to tell us if there was an emergency. There was no explanation at breakfast and we got the impression that this was just a money making operation with little customer care. Avoid this lodge!!

“Cute and Cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2010

We stayed for one night in one of the cabins last year on the way home from Yellowstone. It was a very cute cabin - small, cozy, exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated. It had a big comfy bed, and a very nice bathroom. The lobby in the lodge was beautiful. Breakfast is served in the lodge and was more than adequate with several kinds of cereal, muffins, bagels and breads, juice, milk and coffee. Wish we could have stayed another night! Also, while in Dubois, don't miss eating at the Cowboy Cafe for great burgers and pie.
