“So Good That We Went Twice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We visited Wyoming in September and our first stop was the Nagle Warren Mansion, and in many ways it spoils you for stays elsewhere. The Mansion exudes style and comfort and the host, Jim, is a delightful and knowledgeable source of information on Americana and the West. We enjoyed our stay so much that we made sure to book in for a second visit en route home.

“Great place to visit, but don't stay overnight!”

After placing several phone calls, I finally caught the proprietor when he wasn't napping to book a reservation. I took my sister with me hoping for a cozy and relaxing B&B experience. We got all that as long as we weren't in our room. We had the Francis E. Warren room. It's in terrible disrepair. Cracked ceilings and crumbling plaster, moldy tub and toilet, and a scummy half torn off shower curtain was quite disgusting. The woman, I'm assuming the proprietor's wife, looked annoyed when I asked her for toilet paper because the room had none.
To top it off, our sheets consisted of just two flat sheets that looked like they'd been slept in. When we pulled the sheets back, there was a very large stain that we thought was blood at first but it turned out someone had spilled wine or grape juice on them.
The house is beautiful but there needs to be a lot of repairs and cleaning done. The afternoon tea was lovely as long as we didn't touch the table we were at lest it fall apart. The same went for the breakfast table.
It's a beautiful place to visit but staying overnight would be a mistake in my opinion. I'm very upset that I paid $148 for such a run down room.

Guilty! We apologize! Yes, we are very embarrassed. This definitely is not Nagle. What happened, you might ask.

We hired two new housekeepers after an extensive recruiting, screening and testing process, that is rather sophisticated. We believed the two could and would be good housekeepers. Both performed well during the initial training, however as soon as one was out from under constant supervision her performance plummeted. Sadly, the result was this room and we had to let her go. On the other hand, the other young woman is doing a great job in addition to being pleasant, personable ad guest-focused.

We regret that that this occurred and wish we had been advised immediately, so the guests could have been reassigned to another room and had a more pleasant experience with us.

“Peace”

In September, I had to make a quick trip to Cheyenne to see my Mom who was not well. I made the flight arrangements and looked for a place to stay. All of my regular standards were full, I hadn't realized it was the weekend of the "big" game. After trying several hotels where I knew I would be comfortable, I decided to try this bed and breakfast. As luck would have it, they had just had a cancellation right before I called. All I can say is that I am ruined for any other place to stay in Cheyenne. As this visit wasn't for pleasure, having this wonderfully, peaceful, historical and beautiful place to stay made this trip bearable.

Nagel Warren Bed and Breakfast was a sanctuary. I felt safe, comfortable and pampered. The breakfasts were amazing and the service is top notch. When I traveled to Cheyenne again in November, I brought a friend to share the experience of such a special place.

I would highly recommend this place to any person/couple traveling to or through Cheyenne.

“Victorian Christmas Tea Well Worth It”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

We went to the Victorian Christmas Tea at the mansion. You must have reservations. We were lucky to get the last reservation available, with couch seating, on the day of the tea. Since we were traveling from out of town, we didn't know about the tea in advance, so we were told we would never get in, but we did.

Their tea I believe is their own concoction. I think it was a rosewater tea. We all loved it. They had about 20 items on their tea buffet. I loved all except one item. Plus, you can go back for seconds! My granddaughter loved the salmon wraps, so, being a finicky eater, she went back for many of them. My favorite was the little turkey-cranberry spread sandwiches and the little chocolate balls in a phyllo shell.

The piano music was a wonderful accompaniment. The tea servers kept our cups filled. They even had soda pop for my granddaughter who doesn't like tea.

Thank you, you summed it all up really well. Having the house and tea table decorated for the holidays would be expected. Thanks Jim

“Just Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

I was in Wyoming for business and had the opportunity to stay at the Nagle Warren Mansion. It was a beautiful and quiet place to stay. I had great conversation with the owners. The amount of detail in this home is beyond what I can explain. Must see yourself to appreciate the beauty. The best part was the breakfast and the very nice lady who served our food. Had the opportunity to eat some of the granola cereal that she made. I fell in Love with the cereal and her cooking. I actually proposed to her on the spot. She decided not to move to Louisiana with me. The only disappointment of my trip. BTW: Cookies and drink all day and all night.

Room Tip: Every room is great.
