“Totally exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We were tired and hungry, driving through the dark from the Yellowstone to spend another night in another sort-of-ordinary place and move further. And we were totally wrong, because on that late night we had the most amazing couple of hosts and the most amazing b&b of all our trip waiting for us! The welcoming sign on the door clearly let us know that they are waiting for us and upon entrance to the house we spend the next 12 hours enjoying the hospitality of these wonderful people (and, in fact, we did not want to leave).

Everything - the company of Jan and Terry, the food, the decorations, the bed - was absolutely great. Lots of small but very important extras and presents from the hosts which added extra layers of great impressions. We felt better than at home.

These guys clearly did a great job in running this property and take your chance to stay here - excellent value for money, priceless hosts, overall great impressions. Would definitely stay here again.

“Didn't know this Existed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Oh Boy, if you are from the UK what a wonderful, lovely suprise. Out on the outskirts of Cheyenne is a place to rest. Jan is wonderful, from the notice on the door welcoming us, to the whole time we spent there. There were 4 of us ( 2 couples) they gave us the whole of the downstairs - sitting room, kitchen area if required and 2 lovely bedrooms. Very good information of the area, where to go etc. Jan insisted on a photo call in the garden, she does this for all guests. Breakfast - WOW - waffles, eggs, meats, everything you want. Jan even went to the trouble of placing a small Union Flag on the table. What more can a Hostess do. Thanks you.

Room Tip: Don't bother with a hotel - go for Howdy Pardner

“Lovely, very friendly B&B with outstanding breakfast and nice views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

The Howdy Pardner B&B was located on about 10 acres just outside of downtown Cheyenne, but not quite located in the countryside. The ranch style house had great views of the surrounding landscape and "Calamity" Jan was one of the friendliest hostesses we've ever had at a B&B. We were greeted at the door, given suggestions and directions for dinner, had our photos taken by the hosts, and were provided a gigantic, delicous breakfast in the morning. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and (highly) decorated in western decor! Jan even baked her famous "Calamity Jan" chocolates for us and they were delicious. It was obvious that Jan and her husband were passionate about their business and cared about their guests; they were talkative, interested & interesting, and fun to be around. Highly suggest this unique B&B (unless you're looking for quiter hosts or not interested in the area of Cheyenne). Thanks for the stay... if we're ever in Cheyenne again, we'll pay you guys a visit!

“A great B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2010

The Howdy Pardner was a very nice break on a long roadtrip.

The house is on a nice plot of land on the outskirts of Cheyenne - so it's quiet, peaceful, and has some wonderful views. Getting into Cheyenne is a 10-15 minute drive. Nothing bad at all.

The house and grounds are clean and well-kept. My room (the Buggy Room) and the common areas are also very nicely kept. It's a really nice place to stay.

The breakfasts are great and plentiful. Jan is very accommodating of any special dietary needs.

The hosts, Jan and her husband Terry, are really nice, down-to-earth folks. They hit just the right balance between being gracious hosts and not being "in your business". I've stayed in some B&Bs that ended up being awkward. Not at the Howdy Pardner.

I will be staying here again.

“An Experience we won't soon forget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

This was only my 4th B&B and based on the great reviews on this site, I decided to give it a go. The house is located on top of a hill with a great view of Cheyenne. The room was extremely clean and well decorated. The price was reasonable and Jan was very kind to give us our picture in her farewell gift bag.
We stayed on a Saturday night and I was surprised to find out after returning from town that everyone in the house was sleeping or in their tiny rooms by 9pm. I was also surprised to see that the hostess had come into our room (after she had given us our key) to turn down the bed and had moved our suitcases. Since the house was dark and quiet at 9, we made ourselves to home in the living room watching tv. I had thought the living room was a guest common area, only to find out later (11pm) when the hostess got up that maybe it wasn't.
The breakfast was very good, but I felt like I was at "mom's house" (the hosts sit at the table with you) and like mom, I was made to feel that I had to eat more and clean my plate. BTW, If you are diabetic, you should let Jan know since the food is very rich.
Overall, it was an experience that I won't forget. It gave us something to talk about for days while we were driving. I don't think that I will be back, but if you like living at "mom's house", going to bed early, and eating lots of "decadent" food, then this is the place for you.
