“Excellent motel!”

This is a quite new motel on the very eastern edge of Cheynne, WY, very convenient to I-80 and Pilot Truck Stop (with a Subway sandwich place) just across the road. It is a very nice motel with an indoor pool and quite large breakfast area. The funishings are good and the staff was very pleasant. The bathroom was large and modern. It was the first time that I had stayed in a Sleep Inn, and I will look for others in the future if they are as nice as this one.

“Disgusting hot tub”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2010

Our kids came back from the pool and hot tub with green mold on their backs that we had to scrub to remove. We told management about it and they said they would close the hot tub for cleaning, but two hours later it was still open and in use with no change.
Also, the one eliptical exercise machine in the fitness facility was unusable because of a bent roller, but no "out of order" note.

“Nice, quiet hotel for a good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2010

We chose this hotel because of its location on the edge of town - away from all the trains. We were not awakened a single time by any noises outside our room. We could drive downtown in just 15 minutes. It was a smallish room but fine for our needs and included a refrigerator and microwave, which were very useful.

The service was okay with friendly but not very efficient staff. The first room we were assigned was still being cleaned when we arrived at 4:15 pm even though check-in was listed as 3:00 pm. When returning to our room one time, neither of our keys worked. After waiting 15-20 minutes, the clerk re-keyed the cards without verifying our name or anything, which concerned me due to security reasons.

The room was basically clean, although some scrubbing between the sink faucets would have been nice. The supposedly heated pool was quite cold. Our son didn't want to be in it because it was so cold and ended up playing at the side instead. The beds were awfully hard, but no worse than other hotels we've stayed in. All in all, it served our purpose, and we would stay there again.

“Nice and clean, but lumpy rollaway and sofa bed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2010

This is a fairly new and clean hotel. Upon arrival, the desk clerk was friendly, efficient and helpful. The room was very clean - other than the sofabed which had crumbs in it, but that can't be helped as it *is* a sofa, afterall. However, there were clean sheets in the closet for a quick change. It was okay for children to sleep on the sofabed, but the wires were prominent and there is no way an adult could comfortably sleep on it. The rollaway was even worse, with a mesh of wires right under the surface. We had to put a sleeping bag over the rollaway mattress for our 70 pound grandson to sleep on it. The regular king bed that I slept on was incredibly comfortable - one of the best I've slept on in a hotel.

We were forced to purchase the King Suite because there were 5 of us. It was supposed to have a little partition wall, but it didn't. Also, the room was a bit cozy and we had to do some major furniture rearranging to fit the rollaway bed in the room.

The heated pool was very cold, but the children didn't mind. The hot tub was fine. There was a full continental breakfast complete with waffle makers and plenty of other selections. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a good choice of a hotel to stay with children. Cleanliness is the most important quality to me and this one was well maintained and clean.

“Higher Quality than Expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2010

This is a very nice, very new motel. Everything is spotless. It was better than many Hamptons and Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed at.

We were looking for a room in Scottsbluff, NE, but Hampton and HIE were full there. HIE was also full in Alliance, NE and Torrington, WY. Even Cheyenne, WY's Hamptons and HIEs were full. We hesitated before booking, but thought that whatever we got for $89 would be fine. (most other hotels in the area were over $100)

We booked 3 rooms on 2 floors and paid with 2 credit cards. The staff was very accommodating, even while we confused the heck out of them (mostly our fault, not theirs).

The bathroom is very large, with a full vanity, and the sink was actually in the bathroom. Surprisingly, many motels have the sink in the hallway outside the bathroom, which I do not like.

Breakfast was good. Basically the same thing you would get any Hampton or HIE. They also had a waffle-maker, which was a nice touch.

This is a great I-80 stop, because it is outside of town a bit, so there's no traffic or noise to deal with. There was also a very cheap gas station across the street. However, the location can be a problem when looking for something to eat. Be prepared to travel about 10 minutes into town, there are numerous restaurants and stores along Del Range Boulevard, but nothing much near the hotel.

What I thought might be a subpar room ended up being one of the best hotels of the week (I stayed at a different hotel every night for 7 nights).
