“A very fun overnight stop!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed at the cabin here. It was very cute and clean. Very well stocked with everything you could need. We were traveling with our horse and they were very accomodating. He had his own turn out and was well taken care of while we explored the ranch. The Bison Tour was very fun for the kids and the things you learn were crazy! It was very fun going horseback riding and literally riding thru 2 states on one trail ride! My family and I will return here and hopefully spend a little longer.

“A good stop in Cheyenne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We stopped here on our way to Cheyenne. It was mid-week in September; we were pretty much the only folks there. I can imagine that in summer it's hopping, but it was a bit worn and deserted while we were there. We had lunch in the restaurant (very yummy bison burgers) and then took the train to see the bison. I thought we'd see large herds, but they are far away in the large acreage. The train goes through an area with about 300 bison (3000 on ranch). The bison that the train visits are more "tame"; several of them allow you to feed them. Cheesy, but pretty cool at the same time. Nothing like a huge bison tongue taking food from your hands! They have some other animals on site as well; I was sorry that the camels were not close enough to see (other than from the train). I can imagine that kids would really love this place.

“Very Enjoyable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

I was blown away by the friendliness of this business. I did not stay in a cabin, but camped out in a tent. I arrived around 2:30 pm and set up camp. I went for an early dinner and had the chef salad, only to find out there was no more deli meat. This wasn't really a big deal because she offered prime rib on it and I was more than ok with that. The waitress was extremely friendly and made nice conversation with myself. I, then went on the train ride, which was just me and the driver, John. He was extremely nice and took me out to view the entire ranch. He stopped the train at the Bison, where we fed them, talked and he answered my questions. We were out there for awhile and remember to tip your driver! :o) After that, I changed and went back to the restaurant for the best milk shake ever. I had some nice conversations with the bartender and other people staying there. All in all, I would def recommend staying here and would come back! I felt the grounds was very clean and such a beautiful view especially in the morning when the sun rises. They have restrooms/showers and a laundry room that is open 24hours which was appreciated!

“Something to do for all ages”

Whether it is nose to tail horseback riding to Colorado or target practice with paint guns, Terry Bison Ranch has fun things to do for every age group. My daughter who was in Kindergarten loved riding the pony. My two young boys, ages 10 & 12 enjoyed shooting paint guns at plastic bottles. There are also some mini-carnival rides for the young kids to enjoy. Horseback riding is what they are known for so there are 1 hour rides, half-day rides, or full-day rides. You can also enjoy a small train ride that takes you around the ranch. I found the prices to be reasonable.

“2-Hour Dinner Horseback Ride - Well Worth It!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2011 via mobile

My fiancé and I drove out to the Terry Bison Ranch from Fort Collins, CO the other day, and boy was it worth it! We did the 2 hour dinner trail ride and were totally blown away by the experience. It was just the two of us with our extremely friendly and knowledgable guide, Dave. We expected a typical, slow ride along a well-defined trail, but instead were treated to an off-trail adventure. We went up a large hill, which had outstanding views and possessed a great deal of history. We encountered over 8 species of animal, including elk, bearded dragon, rattlesnake, prairie dog, and more. And to top it off, we had a wonderful meal of bison ribeye and bison short ribs factored into the price of our ride at only $10 per person. Amazing value considering the quality of the ride and the food. Thanks to all the wonderful people at the Terry Bison Ranch. We will certainly return!
