“Awesome convention center, average rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed two nights at the Little America in Cheyenne in January 2012 for a sales meeting at their business center. This is an older property, rooms are of average size and the furnishings are dated. My first thought was that I'd traveled back in time to Grandma's house when I was a kid upon seeing the bedspread and carpet. The bathroom was large and functional, although the toilet was very low. We all joked at our meeting about how an "oversize" person could manage to get on and off the thing. Another issue with the room was that the front was all made of glass, which made temperature control a challenge. On an 18 degree F evening, the heater battled all night to keep the room warm (the cold air return was in the closet of all places).

The property itself is great, with a golf course, humongous pool, and nice landscaping. It appeared that it would be a terrific stop with the family in the summer. The conference center is terrific, with some of the finest bathrooms I've ever seen (floor to ceiling marble tile!). And the restaurants are also excellent.

All in all, a mixed bag, but close to as good as it gets in Cheyenne.

Room Tip: In winter, ask for a room in the main building, near the restaurants. It's a long walk from the...

“A Cheyenne Oasis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This hotel has to be one of the greatest "well kept secrets" in the country! The hotel/resort is nothing like one would be expecting on the highway. The appointments are first class, and the service, facility and food is outstanding. One would be well advised to seek out the Little America facilities when travelling throughout the western United States. They really are outstanding!

Room Tip: Ask for a room closest to the central facility.

“An interstin hotel with a unique decor.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Overall the hotel was fine, but very much outdated. Especially the bathroom, with needs some serious updating of fixtures and finish. The room was large, pillows need some work. The room was quite, which is beneficial. Overall, I'll probably go back to a Marriott or Hilton brand next time.

“Ok but not for business”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Hotel was quirky and unique which might work for family/fun travel but not the best for business travel. and it's not the best if you have some mobility issues (steps, seperate buildings, heavy doors). room service was excellent though!

“Probably spendy without a govt discount, but beautiful and pleasant to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Have stayed at this hotel a few times for work - it is more like a small resort as it has a series of buildings with rooms surrounding the main building with reception desk, restaurant and bar. The entire resort is very clean, sort of traditional in its decor, but extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need. Only complaint is that the WIFI is sort of terrible in the room buildings, but better in the main building. Thus, you sort of have to haul your laptop out of your room in order to have internet access. One other minor minus (or plus depending on your perspective) is the location - which is removed from the main part of Cheyenne. Quiet if you're into that. If you want to be closer to activities (ie walking distance) then you're out of luck outside of the resort (which by the way has a golf course, pool, excercise area, etc)

Restaurant is DELICIOUS. Seriously.. had some extremely yummy breakfast as well as lunches and dinners there. The bar is small and cozy and feels sort of like an executive "green room", with high-backed leather chairs and low tables to sit around and have a glass of wine, whiskey, beer or whatever. Not exactly a rowdy joint but very nice. The entire place is staffed with extremely polite and professional people. A lot of foreigners pass through and stop at this hotel en route to Yellowstone and other places out west so you tend to hear a wide variety of languages which is sort of unexpected for Cheyenne, WY.

Overall would recommend to anyone who can afford it. I only ever have to pay a flat govt rate there, otherwise I probably would not normally splurge on the cost to stay here. One of the few places I am happy to go stay at for work related purposes!
