Stayed in a room with a kitchenette for about 4days and 5nights with my boyfriend and our 2 kids. We planned to stay there for the reminder of our stay which would've been for about 3 whole weeks. After being there for 2 nights the refrigerate wasn't cold enough to keep our food cold, so I called front desk about it, and they didn't get to us til 2days later! During that time, without a fridge we kept our food in the vehicle. I was being very understanding towards Motel 6 for the inconvenience. I didn't want to seem like that complaining customer, so I never mention to them that we also had red itchy bumps on our bodies, mine's in particular. On the 4th night, I found my 2 year old daughter crawling with bed bugs! I immediately grabbed a few and called front desk for help. They only had one person working, so he came up to bag the bugs for me and said he would show it to management the next morning. In the mean time, he set up a new room we could move to. But since it being so late, it was around 2am...I waited up for the bf, who comes back from work around 4am. When he came back, we just decided to go to another motel and come back later for the rest of our things. Long story short...they blamed us for bringing the bed bugs. They did refund us for that night, bed bug incident, but wouldn't compensate us for the other nights. They said since I never complained about the bites or bugs, they would not compensate for those nights. Since I or my bf have never experienced bed bug bites before how were we suppose to know that it was from bed bugs?! Horrible experience and very rude staff! So much for trying not to complain...I should've just complained!
